The blurb is an essential pillar of selling a book, two or three paragraphs designed to inspire the casual bookshop browser to make a purchase. It usually outlines the premise and main characters, often the 'inciting incident' that kicks everything into motion, and usually closes with a hook or a rhetorical question that you just have to hear the answer to.
It's very like a movie trailer, in fact - on which note, have you heard of Honest Trailers? Because we're here to do the same thing for blurbs.
Honest Trailers remix movie trailers, stripping out the hype and marketing spin to give you an alternate - often more blunt - account of a movie's content. This may, but doesn't have to, feature spoilers.
For this reward, create a social media post with an alternate blurb for a book or comic of your choice, and include at least one picture of said book or comic. Your alternate blurb should aim to make us laugh: be silly, blunt, irreverent, reductive, or come at the plot of the book from an unusual angle. Try to avoid spoilers if you can, but give us a clear warning if you can't. You may use your own images or third-party ones, but do give credit to other creators where appropriate. As always, AI is not permitted.
