Today’s the day. Our latest game-specific community, Just About Nightingale, has just gone live, alongside four all-new broad-interest Spaces: Music, Sport, Tech, and Film & TV.
That’s five in total, more than doubling the digital ‘footprint’ of Just About in one big release.
The kind of content and conversation that we’ve generated so far has been really wonderful to see - thank you all. The whole team is now hugely excited to bring our platform to many new topics that we think will inspire much, much more of it.
And it’s all live now. Let’s give you the tour.
Just About Nightingale
A good Just About community is one that inspires discussion, creativity, and discovery. Nightingale follows EVE as our second game-specific community and, as we mentioned at the start of the week, we think it’s a perfect choice.
Nightingale has potentially endless procedurally generated worlds to explore. Players can build vast estates and even group them into multiplayer villages. Challenges range from simply staying alive to escaping shapeshifting dungeons, and there’s the mystery of a collapsing ‘Gaslamp fantasy’ multiverse to discover.
It’s due to launch into Steam Early Access in just five days (Feb 20th), and when it does, we’ve got plenty of bounties cued up to get our members digging in, starting with a review to crowdsource their verdict. But first, we’ve got some pre-release bounties live now to whet everyone’s appetite.
Just About Spaces
Our game-specific communities are the place to dive deep, expressing all the passion that only comes when everyone knows just how important the fine details are.
But we don’t want any community to feel like an island. Instead, they should be villages within larger islands - communities within a Space, which is why Just About Nightingale has joined EVE Online in being nested within the larger Video Games Space in our new-and-improved nav bar.
The idea is for members of individual communities to naturally drift into their wider Space and find common ground with their neighbours. It’ll make everything feel nice and friendly, and ensure that all members can feel at home and try the bounties in at least two communities - likely more, since we’ve targeted so many major interests!
Here are a few highlights from the bounties already live:
Just About Film & TV: settle the debate of which is the best Marvel movie, or break down the best upcoming TV shows
Just About Music: if you’re a musician, share your work and your socials, or write an essay on what music can (or cannot) say
Just About Sport: tell us why your sport is awesome or film your own sports movie using household props!
Just About Tech: have your say on the most important technological advancement of the last decade, and if you’re a PC builder, share a photo of your proud creation!
When we launched our Beta, we said our big goal for 2024 was growth. Now we’ve knocked through the rear wall and built not an extension but a whole new house, with new kinds of rooms to attract new kinds of guests.
