Nope, but my DIY synthesizer is quite close, as dials and a touchpad do not have any specific levels or thresholds, you have to feel the music and tune it manually until it sounds right.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you get into this? I've been curious for a while but never find the time and have no idea where to start!

An artist called Dirty Electronics exhibited at some events I ran a few years ago. He'd bring these homemade instruments and they just sounded so unusual but they were amazing.

Many years ago, I bought a Zoom H1n for interview recordings. At some point, I started to notice the sounds surrounding me, even a noise from road construction could be turned into music. I started to collect ambient sounds with the hope of turning them into something.

Then I saw someone using a Korg NTS-1 for jamming tracks similar to the ones I enjoy listening to. I also noted that for my video edits, I spent too much time searching for a perfect tune that gives the right mood and highlights certain moments. So I thought, what if I edit a video the way I like and then composed music for it?

Later, I added a Teenage Engineering Pocket Operator 33 to make tuness more rich and with more layers.

Overall, it takes a lot of time and effort, but it pays off with final satisfaction.

This would make an awesome Members' Corner submission!

I find it so inspiring when I hear about peoples' sense of discovery and wonder, particularly when it leads to something creative. 😊 Your other posts about photography have similarly prompted me to want to learn more!
