Elder Eoten Guide

Among the three Apex Bosses in the game, Elder Eoten is the hardest one. You can encounter these bosses in Vaults within The Watch or through Vault Cards. Additionally, their wild counterparts roam the Hunt Realm, accessible at level 70 and above.

There are two strategies to interact with an Elder Eoten: engagement in combat or initiating trade. Both actions yield precious resources like wood and hearth, crucial for progressing to access The Watch.

Trading with Elder Eoten

For a peaceful approach, prepare Ritual Fabled Meat. This item is integral to the "Eoten Offering" questline, which rewards you with an achievement among other things. To initiate this quest...

Combat with Elder Eoten

If opting for combat, use an axe to exploit the Eoten’s vulnerability to this type of damage. The Elder Eoten has weak spots marked by four shiny blue points under its legs; three are decoys, and one is the true weak point. Target the correct spot to maximize damage.

Locating the Elder Eoten

To find an Elder Eoten, venture into the Hunt Forest realm. Utilize your Spyglass or the Track Legend enchantment to make spotting easier. The creature resembles a large tree with twisted branches and is typically found near bodies of water like lakes or rivers or roads.

Whether you choose to trade or fight, be prepared for a rewarding encounter with one of the game's majestic creatures.

Happy hunting!

i wanted to write about hippos, they are my favorite, but then i saw MadameClutter post about Eoten and decided to cover that topic as people getting confused and waste time on Eoten Heart hunting

The Elder Eoten is one of my favorite creatures I've come across in the game so far. I wasn't expecting this encounter AT ALL, I didn't even know this guy existed! I love that the creatures in this game have so much depth to them.

I might have good news for you—this isn’t an Elder Eoten, just a regular one. So, you'll have the opportunity to meet a much larger version in the future. I've created a guide below on how to meet one!

OOof! That makes sense! Thank you!

Repost due to switching to YouTube shorts. The sun giant is my favourite and can be found in a desert hunt realm.

Nice. Between the video and the soundtrack, I started picturing the metal giant from Queen's News of the World album art.

lol, yeah with shorts as long as you do it from the phone app you can link up all sorts of copyrighted music no problem from a massive approved list. On desktop you can't.

After a bunch of killing it’s nice to see some friendly creatures 😁

Nice! I haven't found any grendels yet!

eventually you will see them at higher levels. I was there when I wasn’t really suppose to be yet so among all the higher level enemies trying to kill me it was a pleasant change 😄

Thanks for the fantastic bounty idea GameofBeardz!

Hello! Are we allowed to enter more than one submission? I have two favorite creatures at the moment!

Alex Sinclair's avatar

Hey MadamClutter welcome to Just About! Apologies for not spotting your question before the bounty closed (feel free to tag me anytime using Alex Sinclair). Our bounty system only allows for one submission per person. However, should you find yourself in a position like this again, I'd recommend including both of your favourites in one submission. In most cases that will be fine, and the bounty text should make it fairly clear on the occassions when that's not allowed. I hope that helps, happy bounty hunting!
