For this reward, we're looking for high-quality, reflective videos that explore Rayman's legacy and what it's like to return to this icon in a modern context.
The brief is simply Rayman, then and now. Rayman in the particular context of the '90s and the modern day, either in comparison to the wider games industry at these times or in your own memories and experiences. We want you to take the reins on this one and make thoughtful, creative, high-quality videos according to your own interpretation of the brief.
Just to warm up your creative juices, have a think about the following questions, but please note they are only inspiration - if you've got your own idea with a clear link to the brief, please feel free to go for it (and remember you can tag me in the discussion if you have any questions):
If you played the original, what does it mean to you? And what's it like to return to it three decades later? If you didn't, what are your thoughts playing it now? Is it as difficult as its reputation? How does it hold up compared to modern platformers? Can you see some of their DNA in Rayman? Is this game's influence on modern platformers still clear?
This is a two-tier reward. We'll award $40 prizes, $25 prizes, and amplification according to the quality of incoming videos. Your videos will need to be very good to earn $25 and exceptionally good to earn $40. As ever, we reserve the right to reject low-effort entries or hold them in shortlist.
