Best goal: Shaqiri vs Scotland. A first time hit at a challenge approach angle to the ball from the defence splitting pass. He absolutely buried this into the top corner, leaving the keeper no chance. The celebration was tragic though unfortunately!

Jan Oblak penalty save (Ronaldo). He guessed the right way and managed to tip the penalty onto the post and out of play. Brilliant stretching save and what made it even better was it was against Ronaldo! Boo hoo.

Best match Croatia 2-2 Albania. End to end stuff and a frenetic pace to this game at times. The goals were well taken and the drama of the 2 late goals really kept everyone on the edge of their seats! Some of the big games really didn't live up to the hype this tournament, thankfully gems like this made sure there was plenty to enjoy!

Biggest surprise team Switzerland. They made it out of a tough group and showed how organised and disciplined they were knocking out Italy in the first knockout round. Were unlucky not to get more from the England game and have shown their credentials for the next World Cup qualifying campaign!
Top 3 players. Number 3- Joshua Kimmich. Solid in defence for the Germans and highlighted his excellent passing ability and vision with a couple of assists in the tournament. Clear to see why many of the big guns are eyeing up his signature! Number 2- Dani Olmo- seized his chance brilliantly after the injury to Pedri. Scoring 3 goals and bagging 3 assist highlighted his attacking pedigree and he was one of Spains main men going forward. 1.- Fabian Ruiz. Ruiz ran the show for Spain from midfield, showing excellence in possession and scoring 2 important goals on the way to the final. He was the beating heart of the team and created so many chances for the Spanish attack to utilise their guile and threat. Without a doubt player of the tournament in my mind!

For this bounty, I took a creative approach. Since June, a nearby cafe has transformed into a sports bar. Armed with my notepad, I visited the cafe for an interview. This excursion resulted in not only gathering valuable information for this bounty but also enjoying a free beer from commoners. I expect this new spot will be a useful resource for future football-related insights as well =)

It was tough to pick one, and then asked which match had the most tension, and all 5 of my responders agreed on Turkey vs Czechia.

Biggest Surprise Team

Seems Turkey was the biggest surprise of the tournament. Despite not being favorites, they managed to reach the knockout stages.
