Pillars of Eternity 3? Give Josh Sawyer Baldur's Gate 3's budget (interview)

Nice long interview with Josh Sawyer, studio design director at Obsidian and one of the people you'd name in the first sentence alongside Larian's Swen Vincke as a global authority on CPRGs like Baldur's Gate 3. Touch Arcade covers a ton of ground, including Sawyer's reflections on Pentiment now that it's been out for a year, but GamesRadar has plucked out perhaps the juiciest item: if budget were no issue, his dream project would be to make Pillars of Eternity 3:

"I think that would be a lot of fun to do, to do like a high production value party-based fantasy RPG. I'm pretty happy with Pillars and Deadfire, but I do think that if it were not crowdfunded, I would probably make it turn-based."

Sawyer goes into detail on Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2's traditional real-time-with-pause combat system, and why turn-based has won the battle. Lots of good stuff here :-)
