Xbox Games Showcase followed by Call of Duty®: Black Ops 6 Direct - ETA 4 hours

In just 4 hours, the Xbox Games Showcase is kicking off, followed by the Call of Duty®: Black Ops 6 Direct. It’s going to be interesting to see what Xbox has been hiding from us, especially since the Summer Game Fest just wrapped up a few days ago.

Here’s a bit of what we can expect:

Looking forward to it even though I don't have an Xbox (but it's basically a pc show as well these days). I really hope we see some gameplay of Fable. I have high hopes for that game considering the studio making it/the people that work there.

Honestly, I am not very pleased with all these Direct, Connect, and other per-single-publisher's shows. Before, there was E3, and it was like a second Christmas, filled with surprises and stunning performances. Now, it's just two people walking on stage, watching trailers on a big screen, and then reading cards with prepared marketing pitches.

The Xbox showcase was a lot better but I know what you mean. It's a shame it was prerecorded and not a full on press conference of old I do miss all of that, watching them online and all the buzz (or disappointment) around them, then the long discussions about who "won" and all that.

The rumour has been going round about an announcement for the Fable release window.

I'm hoping for an update on this more than anything. It holds a very special place for me, so I'm just excited to hear how it's getting on.

Honestly I'm not even fussed if it's a reboot, remake, sequel, prequel, totally different gameplay etc*. I'm just happy to see the franchise carry on. 🐔

Fingers crossed someone brings Black & White 🐮🐵🦁and The Movies 🎥 back to life!

* I realise it's sometimes referred to as Fable 4, but I don't believe they've confirmed any connection to the previous titles.

Absolute throwback with the Black & White reference!

I'd love to go toe-to-toe against Nemesis again and trying to find the creeds. That game had the 10 year old me hooked on playing God man..

They are cautioning on the games steam forum the the playground mode isn't implemented yet and its basically the single player story/quest/unlock type gameplay at the moment. I'm considering buying it though (with my JA funds) as I enjoyed The Movies back in the day (I tended to just buy everything lionhead made and before that bullfrog...)

Hoping for some news re: Perfect Dark Remake though I also heard as a rumour that they are only announcing games that will be available in the next year or so..

It looked great. I did write a longer comment but i messed it up in the browser and then I'd moved onto the next game lol.

Playground Games is basically ex Codemasters staff founding it I understand (Ralf Fulton was one of the main people behind Race Driver GRID and the future games were not as good in my opinion after he left and presumably took a lot of people with him to found playground).

I have a lot of respect for the games they put out as they are always high quality and fun.

Great show. A little bit of the E3 excitement of old. Big budget game announcements, and a nice range of games. Good amount coming out this year as well as things further out. Only thing it was missing was it being prerecorded instead of a live stage show with a crowd. An excited crowd could have really added to it rather than having to go to forums to see what went down well.

The "hard at work on the next generation "message was needed and will be welcomed by their console base given the recent uncertainty.
