We love fan art. We've run a ton of rewards for it in different communities, including for Smalland and Voidwrought here on JAVG, but we'd love to see what you come up with when there are no limitations on the subject matter.
For this reward, create a piece of fan art of any video game character!
You can use any medium - painting, digital illustation, sculpture, pottery, even food art, it's all good. The only things to note are:
Your submission must come in the form of an image (take a photo if you're making a sculpture, etc);
You must submit it through connected social media (we'd love it if you tagged us and used #justabout, too);
And you must include an image of your piece part-way through its creation as well as the finished piece. This is so we can see that you've made it and not an AI. AI-generated art is strictly banned for this reward.
This is a podium-finish reward in which submissions will only close and be judged on February 27, 2025. The most-upvoted, creative, effortful, or otherwise best fan art will win the top prizes. We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Here's my submission! One of my favorite character: Midna the Imp Queen of Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
Adding a screenshot of the sketch for "this is not AI" purposes but also to show that I used the official concept art from Hyrule Historia as a reference because she has a feral aspect that I really like but she slightly lose in the final in-game version.

This one is a bit mean - Tombraider is one of my favourite games and I have watched the retro streamer PixelBandits ( on Twitch and Youtube) Play various versions of the game. it's become a running gag that he couldn't get along with the Angel of Darkness and deeply hated its playthrough, to the extent that another playthrough was used as a booby prize for a recent charity stream he did. I have previously sent him a picture of his least favourite spaceship type in Elite Dangerous, and now I have done him some personalised fan art of The Angel herself. I'm sure he won't mind too much...

For this fan art, I wanted to do a tribute for Life is Strange 2 featuring Sean and Daniel. It is probably my favourite game I've ever played because of how much I connected with the story and the character's journey.
When I first started this drawing, I had planned something super clean as my other prints followed but I was inspired by the voidwrought bounty that was previously on, I thought I could take that cosmic otherworldly feel of it and merge it with the emotional weight of Life is Strange 2. I did a simple sketch of the brothers, and my original plan was to have them in some serene setting, like a wind turbine. Halfway through, I thought, "Why not do some void-inspired elements?" and completely went another direction.
This created an art piece fusing Sean and Daniel's emotional journey into one, filled with surreal cosmic vibes. I had so much fun experimenting with the swirls of the void and the dynamic lighting, which put me out of my comfort zone. It is far from what I originally envisioned, yet I am thrilled with the outcome. I have uploaded both halfway progress and a final product to view, just to show the path which this piece took!
