I'm not sure if I qualify as a 'cozy player,' as I tend to push game design to its limits, almost to the point of exploiting mechanics. However, I do it at a slow pace; speedruns aren't really my style. Instead, I might repeat the same action five times to discover the most optimal solution. Sometimes, I might even create a problem where none existed, just for the challenge!

I like your style! 😄RTS and tower defense games led me down the dark path of optimisation. What is it you enjoy about that approach?

It's about creating new systems or uncovering emergent properties in areas where they were initially unintended. This process feels like a form of exploration and discovery, right at the forefront of engineering

I'd not really thought of it like that, but designing systems feels like a good way to describe it.

When I play RTS games I'm a bit of a turtler, preferring to set up a balanced and self-managing base before going on the offensive. I'd know it's time to attack when I'm able to leave the game running for a little while, and I've survived and thrived in the time I was away 😆

I think ‘cozy’ is relative; if you feel chilled and a certain game relaxes you, you’re gaming cosily, right? At least that’s what I tell myself!

Then I'm always cozy while I have a plan in my trusty notepad 😆
