Short and sweet written entry? I can do that.

My content creation hero is none other than my partner, the wonderful 'EmmaLilico'.

I appreciate this feels like a cop-out and probably just a plug for my girlfriend, but she genuinely is incredible. She works harder than anyone I know and never complains about it. Alongside being the social media co-ordinator for both the EGX and MCM ComiCon, she still finds the time to put out her own streams 2-3 times a week, edit videos in both long form and short form formats for her youtube and TikTok channels AND put up with my shenanigans...

She really is one of a kind and, bias aside, is a dedicated content creator that strives to provide a safe space for her community whilst still putting out content across multiple social channels.

For those of you that want to support her, her socials are below.

Being asked how is my content creator hero is is a question that can only be answer by answering two times. So lets get stated.

Outside Xbox/Xtra

In the early days of my watching YouTube. I came across a video called Let's Play Dishonored - Gameplay - Outside Xbox Kills High Overseer Campbell. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_BHHSb9Fe0 To that point YouTube had been trailers, Anime New Metal music video and that cat I'm a kitty cat video. This was an eye opener for me. Outside Xbox felt (want to make this sound as nice as possible) less produced. I know a mass amount of work goes into what they do but it felt more relaxed. Felt like a group of friends coming together to talk about video. Also was a little weird seeing Andy from Send you a message, Mike from Official Xbox Magazine and Jane from Gamespot coming together to creating this channel. Then is 2015 Outside Xbox added Outside Xtra lead by Luke and Ellen which as soon as they arrived felt like they were around forever. Their Oxventure channel had inspired me to write my own DnD campaign.

OxBox reminds me to have fun and enjoy what you do.

Kyle Bosman

My other content creator is Kyle Bosman. Gametrailers was my go too for game news back in it day. So on Febuary 15th 2013 the world was introduced too Kyle Bosman this video is still one of my favorites on the internet.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83yQrBEYJ2w

I think what Kyle thought me is to be weird be your true self. Find your own voice. Part of the fun is expressing yourself. That said it is hard to find sometimes. But pat of the fun is the Journey. It sucked that in 2015 GT shut down but you can catch Kyle Bosman doing Delayed Input (Great name for a show) https://www.youtube.com/@KyleBosman/featured

These are the People that have inspired me the reason I want to make stuff. If I can make stuff ten percent as good as them I would be happy. Thanks for reading.

My content creator hero is Larryzaur. Larry has been a Final Fantasy XIV content creator for 7 years, and set the ground for funny videos with his 'Basically' series. Lines from his videos are often quoted to this day (at least by me... when I summon my Bahamut...)

Even after becoming popular, he remained humble and did his best to keep up with all the comments to his videos, throwing out a like or a reply.

He has been invited to FFXIV media tours by Square Enix and even had a chance to interview producer Naoki Yoshida (Yoshi-P). What I love about about this interview is that you can't tell which one of them is more nervous.. Larry talking to his hero, or Yoshi-P talking to a summoner main after the job got completely reworked for Endwalker.

Even content creators who started after him would often reference him in their videos. In Jocat's 'Crap guide to Final Fantasy XIV - Magic DPS' video the summoner figure looks like Larry:

Larry stopped being a professional content creator and closed his Patreon account to stop accepting donations for his work when he finally got a job as a game developer. He still makes videos from time to time, but now his mostly focusing on making his own game, which is due to be released in 2024 Q4.

Here is the trailer and you can play the demo on Steam:

I'll never been as funny as Larry but will forever remain a summoner main and annoy my raid group with quoting him.

I love the idea of the different rewards for written or video submissions. Wanted to make a video but the facilities in my hotel are awful so had to stick with writing this time, but looking forward to make some videos when I'm back home :)
