I've been looking for a while now for a free or low-priced content management tool I could use as a beginner content creator for cross-posting to Xitter-like platforms and to schedule content. I can't always post at the same time and consistency is key to grow your channels, so it would be best for me to just sit down once a week, plan my posts ahead and maybe have templates too for my recurring posts like going live with streams.
Most of these tools are either stupidly expensive for someone who barely makes money yet with their content, or the free version is extremely limited. Tried Buffer first, and that failed me with not being able to post to Bluesky which is my preferred Xitter alternative and not being able to make Stories on Instagram. Since I mostly post gaming screenshots it works better for me to use Insta via the web, rather than having to copy all my material to my phone first.
Now I found a tool which does have some limitations but offers a pretty decent free tier, and even the next 2 tiers are very reasonably priced.
Pros I found so far:
Xitter, Bluesky, Mastodon already available and Threads coming soon
7 networks included in the free plan (TikTok will be limited as to post videos you need a paid plan)
Calendar to see your scheduled posts
Create hashtag groups and add multiple hashtags by pressing one button
You can customise content per channel
When you start tagging on Xitter, it will bring up account suggestions like the real Xitter would
There is a browser extension which integrates with Xitter and you can schedule replies or retweets with it directly from scrolling Xitter into Fedica (not sure if works for the other platforms, haven't tried yet)
You can schedule recurring posts
You can set a time manually for your post, let the platform decide on optimal time or add them to a queue from where posts will be sent out according to your post time schedule you set for yourself
You can add alt text / description to each picture for usability
There is a mobile app too, even though I couldn't find information of it on the website or in google store, but once you open the website on your phone, you get a notification to install the app
Cons I found so far:
only 10 scheduled posts in the free plan (still pretty decent though)
it can only handle images less than 10MB
can't crop images to square or use Instagram filters
can't mark images as spoiler like you could on Xitter
no Youtube support (would be cool with Insta Reels and TikTok being available)
Features I'm really considering to even pay for:
video support
AI hashtag suggestions
let the platform scan your channel for optimal post timings instead of general optimal time suggestions (useful for folks who are in a different time zone than their followers)
compare your channel with selected competitors
basic follower and post engagement analytics
The next paid tiers are $10 and $24 when billed annually which is still pretty decent compared to Hootsuit being like $99? Once my channels grow a bit and I can afford to pay for it, I'm seriously considering paying for this tool.
