Morning Somewhere by Burnie and Ashley Burns
Internet power couple and former Rooster Teeth on-screen talent Burnie and Ashley are back with their weekday morning podcast Morning Somewhere. It tackles entertainment, internet, pop-culture, with some political talk, this podcast is a wonderful start to your morning.

Burnie and Ashley do a wonderful job in summarising the latest headlines in a light hearted way but also are able to bring the tone back when the subject matter is more serious. The highlights are that they are every weekday AND they are also around 15-20minutes long and I feel that is the perfect length. Its enough not to overstay it's welcome but its also just too little that you do want a little bit more - for which there is a patreon where there are extra episodes, Q+A, Discord etc. Even if you're not a paying patron, their subreddit is also quite active as part of episode talk back and promoting further discussion on the topics raised in the episode.

I think what's really nice about this show is that you don't have to be a previous fan of Rooster Teeth, The Know, Ashley or Burnie Burns. They do have some call backs to their older works but it's not reliant to carry this show.

I highly recommend this if anyone is looking for another podcast to get into. It's only 20 minutes so you can binge a couple of episodes to see if it takes your fancy

New content from my favourite Final Fantasy professor:

https://www.youtube.com/embed/QSLsi79W0Ks?feature=oembed

It is a weekly podcast starting off with analysing people's character choices in games. Do they look like the player in real life or are something completely different? What does the character we create in games say about us?

He's also talking about the "date" questline in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. For those who are unfamiliar with the game, depending on what dialogues you choose, who you have in your party etc at one point you get to take one of the characters on a date. And our Professor was in for a surprise, because through the entire game he thought he was courting one character, but then ended up on that date with another. Based on this experience he talks about behaviour in relationships, how do you show affection towards someone and how do you choose a partner, what are the important characteristics?

The concept behind this podcast is to show people what we can learn from video games, and to break down the misconception of video games being a waste of time and they will only make children become violent.

I am going to submit Viva La Dirt Leagues, Annoying NPC gets in the way...

https://www.youtube.com/embed/DlBk1OQ2dUM?feature=oembed

Now when playing games, we have all had those pathways or small areas inside the buildings where the NPC get's in the way and either just won't move, no matter which way you go, so you either have to log out or abandon the quest, this video is a video which highlights how bloody annoying this is!

Fine, I'll ask here then Ford James

I did exactly what the bounty asked for, shared a video, and analysed it, I pointed out how in games we often hate NPCS that we get stuck behind or cause issues and pointed out this video showed exactly that.

The video shows exactly what I spoke about. A large body of text was not needed for this bounty.

I wasn't when I did exactly what you asked for. Even JA members messaged me pointing out it out.

Hello. For this bounty, we were looking for an analysis of another creator's content - to give your opinion on what they did well or less well, in other words - so that "other creators can reflect and learn", as we say in the description. Your entry describes the content of the video you included, but multiple members of the Just About team agreed that it does not make that kind of assessment; if you take a look at the winning bounty submissions, you'll see that they all try to evaluate what works in their videos or doesn't and why.

This month I've discovered Loru Gaming, and I really enjoy the content there. It's quite unique for EVE Online, or at least for me, as I rarely see this type of video editing, which is typical for regular vlogs. The videos are handy and informative, striking the right balance between depth and conciseness. Let's face it- most EVE Online guides tend to be 20+ minutes long, but Loru Gaming manages to keep things compact and engaging.

A few weeks ago, I discovered Virtually Marti's stream channel while searching for information about Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. What caught my attention was how she presents her material in a way that is understandable even for a newbie like me. Initially, I was looking for gameplay content to decide if I wanted to get a Switch game for myself. Instead, I started watching Marti's series, which ultimately saved me time and money.

Upon checking out her other media, I found her YouTube channel, which features reviews, unboxings, and other content related to the Pokémon brand. It's a solid source of information and provides a comprehensive look into various aspects of the Pokémon universe.

This month I am submitting some content from a smaller content creator called Akkaifox, in this video they are doing a art time lapse and one thing that I like about it is the fact they also have a commentary over the top of the video explaining their thought process behind the art as well as some chill music, it's nice to know a bit more about what is happening. They are a talented artist as well and I enjoyed watching this video so I checked out some more of their other art videos.

So, with me being a professional graphic designer by day - I love spending time on LinkedIn. I find so much inspiration on there for creative skills and love immersing myself with new content. The thing I want to share with you was just truly amaing.

I love looking at the work from a page called One Minute Briefs - here different artists and designers all have their take on different briefs.

Attached is a reactive advert for Nike by James Clancy. This was after a goal kick by a certain England player! Look How bloody amazing this is!!

My pick has got to be this gen from a channel I had never seen before this video called PatRatrick -

Now there’s a bunch of reasons I think this piece of content is fantastic so let me touch on a few of them!

  1. The nostalgia effect - big time nostalgia overload in this video comparing how things used to be with how they are now. As I have lived thorough all these time periods and the various changes when I was younger so I can relate to everything that he is saying and showing in this video!

  2. The editing is top notch, he must have spent house chopping this video up and searching for old footage and meme type clips from the Simpson’s and the like!

  3. Sound - great background music and lighy use of sound effects to add impact where required!

  4. Real world examples - there was so many good real life examples that we can all relate to that perfectly illustrate the point he is trying to get across on the video which gets you thinking about this more and potentially what other areas of your life can yous re such changes in the world!

  5. Structure - the video was structured into digestible parts with made sense, so this was good if you didn’t want to watch all in one go and also kept it interesting and thr story chugging along! The only change I would have liked to have seen was an additional chapter at the end maybe discussing what we can do to fight again this “blandness” which is taking over our world for example as I think that would have been a better send off than the end it had after showing us everything that had changed!

Be anyways I really enjoyed this, I hope you do too, and the guy got a new subscriber out of me (I am sure he will get many more!)

Ps bring back MySpace 😜
