I made a video of myself reading doing a reading of Resident Evil documents about 50 mins long. I was having a bad throat day (if that’s a thing) and decided to try out one of those AI voice makers using just that one video as a reference for another set of files

Genuinely, there is no difference.

It’s SUPER impressive to hear a nearly two hour video which sounds exactly like you that you recorded exactly 0% of. But, ultimately I won’t be going with it on another “bad throat day.”

I can’t tell you why, exactly. It’s not that it’s “cheating,” or that it isn’t a high enough quality. Something about it, though…

If you’re the pedantic type, you could (and likely will) poke holes in this analogue, but it’s like the difference between buying something and making it yourself.

It’s just… different.
