As a student of Law, let me tell you how this is going to go
"We want our money"
"Did you read and sign the TOS of Honey when you agreed to work with them/install said addon"
"Yes we did"
"Clearly you didn't, TOS clearly states their intentions and use of their product under international trading laws, case dismissed"

Every affiliate company does this exact same thing, they use you, to make money. It's that simple. You use coupons, they take money, you get people to sign up, they take money, its all in the TOS, you have to agree to when installing and or sign to use, this court case will do absolutely nothing except land these people with a huge legal bill and paying compensation to Honey for damages and damage to company image and profits.
Pretty much this.
If there isn't anything illegal that Honey is doing (no matter how shitty it is), as long as someone signed on that dotted line then there isn't any grounds.
It sounds like Honey found a loophole and exploited the hell out of it
I find it fascinating how the discussion of this all went on here v every other platform & outlet. Really interesting how the demographics must be different or something to cause it.
Yeah that's really exciting! No matter how the case ends up, it shows content creator that they need to unionize. I'm serious! Stronger together, and also if it can show the public that content creation IS work and hard-work at that, this is for the best as well. I've heard one of the Youtuber involved is an attorney at law, so I'm sure this person knows what's up and will do what's the most efficient in this case.
