We're kicking off our new Critter Café community in a big way with a baking challenge in honour of a critter of your choice!
Here are the rules:
Your entry must be a baked foodstuff: a cake, some bread, biscuits, it's all good, just make sure it's edible, made wholly or primarily from dough or batter, and baked. Get creative!
Your entry must be related to a critter in Critter Café.
Your actual submission must be an IRL photograph or video of your baked masterpiece, posted to a social media account that you've linked to your Just About profile, and then shared here via the purple 'Submit' button below. Feel free to add any explanatory text describing your process, the link with your chosen critter, and so on!
Important notes:
To increase your chances of winning the top prizes, we have four main criteria: effort, quality, creativity, and clarity of the link with your chosen critter.
What do we mean by clarity? We're happy to receive entries that are a similar shape or colour as an in-game critter (though you might have to explain it to us), but if you're somehow able to make an exact replica of a critter in cake form with perfect colour-matched icing, that's going to score a lot of points. If, however, we don't receive such a masterpiece, please don't assume that a mound of crumbs will be considered eligible by default for one of the top-three prizes! There's a quality/effort bar that all submissions must meet to be eligible for the podium.
All submissions will be judged on December 20th - just in time for some last-minute Christmas shopping!

Once the deadline closes, we’ll pick a first-, second-, and third-placed submission provided we receive submissions of sufficient quality, and award them $60, $50, and $30 respectively. We will also pick up to ten runner-up submissions and award them $10 apiece. We may share the winners as curated content, and will always credit your work if we do.

I tried to bake Catcus! I hope it resembles the model enough, but just in case: I sculpted two little ears with extra dough, then covered the cake in green icing, sprinkled it with chocolate sprinkles (for the little prickles!) and added some details with colored marzipan: the yellow of the ears, the eyes, and the pink flower are all marzipan.
