A very warm welcome to Just About Elite Dangerous, to all members new and old!
At the weekend, Elite players rallied for great causes in Wokingham in the UK, and were even (re)graced by sci-fi royalty in the form of Red Dwarf's Norman Lovett. Did any of you make it to the event? Have you been to any other Elite meetups?

Unfortunately never managed to make one - but it's something I really want to do. Maybe one day the stars (and schedules) will align!
Was there running the event for the day - SUCH a good day and so nice to see/make friends new and old. 10 years since the first (very small) Elite Meet - now evolved into Elite Community Meet and a HUGE total raised for the charities. £5111.11 to split between the two from this fantastic and generous community.
...and yes, I've committed already to running the 2025 one.

ECM looks like so much fun! I'll keep an eye out for the next one. The atmosphere feels a lot like the Rooster Teeth UK events I used to run 😊 I'd love to hear how the event started up and what the highlights have been for you over the years.
Ten years ago a handful of commanders got together in a bar in Birmingham....
This year, it was 164 of us.
The rest, as they say, is history!
Birmingham, Glasgow, Bristol, Wokingham, Manchester, Virtual (covid times), Wokingham and Wokingham again - and another one planned for 2025!
Everyone steps up, everyone helps build the event - it's run BY the community for each other. Every year we add something new and exciting.
Many - under the "Hutton Orbital" banner over the year. Next is likely a dinner meet-up in the north in November.... Regularly hold smaller ones in Glasgow as well. Nothing formal, just get together, drink beer, eat food.
Then there's PitCon run by the Buurs (dates to be announced) - and we've done a few overseas ones as well in the US, France, Germany, Australia.
ECM was an absolute blast. I loved seeing everyone and spending time with folks I'm lucky to see physically more than a handful of times a year.
