no doubt this will be seen as an attack, but anyway, it's just some thoughts,

there are a lot of players, (older players generally) who play games a few hours at the end of the day to relax, they don't go on discord, and probably go on reddit every now and again to look up how to beat a boss or such,

the majority of players are console, and have their own comms and social, while squads might require discord for cross platform comms, that would be about all they do,

developers seem to have been fixated on these sites and following the wishes of what is essentially a vocal minority, my first game was called "pong" the old black and white ping pong game with a square dot and a line either side of the screen, then came gaming consoles with a cartridge for each game, sega, commodore 64, ect, then pc's became available commonly and the cd drive, the internet is only a recent thing to me, but it appears that this penchant for believing that the essentially vocal minority on their discord channels and diverting game development to cater to the whim of the moment from these groups coincides with a general decline in the financial gains of mainstream dev companies overall over the last half decade,

i've played ED for over 8 years, i've taken what i enjoy of the game and that's what i play, "blaze your own trail", so these whim of the day events i have no interest in, did thargoids before this war was even thought of, but it seems to be just being shoved down our throats, no matter, i'll just keep "blazing my own trail"
