Whenever I tell my player story, I always have to talk about the legendary lady Greygal as well. I don't think that I'd be where I am or accomplished what I have in 4 short years if I hadn't ran smack into an interview she did with Jin'taan about a month after I started playing.

My husband, who followed Jin'taan sent me the link. I listened to the interview and I think Greygal was doing her newbro roam either that Sunday or the next. I was intrigued so when the time came I flew out to Berta, was handed a Suicide Catalyst and told to undock. Then in true Eve fashion, information was dumped on all of us starry eyed newbros.

Then she had us align and in a few jumps we were in Nullsec where we quickly came across a Praxis. We were given the orders to tackle it (I had NO idea wth tackle was but I think I got it locked..). Except it was a smart bombing Praxis and it disintegrated most of us.

Cackling about the destruction, we reshipped and went at it again. This was how I spent one Sunday a month for about a year? Maybe a year and a half? Meanwhile I would go out on Redemption Road's sunday fleet and eventually started going to FUN Inc.

During the height of the pandemic, it was clear that an NPSI newbro roam only once a month wasn't cutting it. There was quite a bit of demand for a more frequent newbro roam. So a friend, whom I met via Greygal's fleets, and I decided to start doing our own newbro roams. At first we were doing them weekly but as the pandemic died down and people got to real life we found out the sweet spot was every other week. Our newbro roams also includes a pvp 101 which was directly inspired by Greygal. We've been running these nearly every other Wed for 3.5 years without fail and it's coined the FUNny Newbro Roam.

The way I operate the open community Eve Rookies is also heavily inspired by Greygal. This is a lady who enjoys seeing her fledgling players learn and grow and gives them that room. Because of her, I got to try scouting at only 2 months in the game and I was FCing Redemption Road fleets at 8 months. She made sure the opportunities were there for any of us who wanted to grab them. And this is why anyone, no matter what their experience is, can try any role on any of my fleets including FCing. People do amazing things when you give them the tools to learn and grow.

I wish she still FC'd because flying with her is a blast. This is a video I made from a fleet where she let our dictor pilot convince a Raven that we were just passing through. If you wait till the end, you can hear her talking about psychological warfare.

Most people who frequented the r/Eve subreddit before 2021 have seen the legendary StainGuy ask CCP for a Lowsec gate to the Shansha's NPC region of Stain.

This has been going on for years. It was a Meme among the community and CCP. And when CCP Aurora published an announcement, that the gate was under construction, but an Orca was stuck in it (a play on the freight ship 'Ever Given' being stuck in the Suez Canal at the time) on April 1st, 2021, nobody thought much of it. But the plot thickened and CCP seemed to be serious in the coming patch notes.

At some point, StainGuy announced they would delete the account if the gate would become a reality. After all, their goal would be achieved, and the crusade should come to an end.

And with the Stargate Trailblazer event it happened. Capsuleers could run 'Mining Blitz' sites to 'help' build the gates. Each empire had a project one could chip into. The one going into Stain would connect Saminer in Tash-Murkon with F7-ICZ in the R-IZDC Region.

If you had to sum up StainGuy's legendary achievement, this comment on the last and final reddit post sums it up greatly:

This man literally shit posted so hard it modified the map of EVE. Respect

o7 StainGuy

Thanks to them, I'm part of Eve's history as well.

I'd heard this story, but I never knew the EverGiven detail - that's great

Hello

Mine is about a player called Sir Molle aka Shrike. I was a Band Of Brothers fleet commander for 8 years, I flew with him for years and his attitude towards the rest of Eve's PvP blocks was one of "come at us". Obviously, we were destroyed by our own director but, it was the best alliance I ever flew with.

Evolution was the best PvP corporation in Eve Online, there was no doubt in my mind. It was, we flew, we destroyed people and we did not give up, Molle's favorite saying was "adapt or die" or the BoB saying (people will say it's not) but it was "PROOF OR STFU" etc.

As a fleet commander under Molle our job was very clear, do as you're told, or you're done.

Whilst this may be a short answer to this bounty, my favorite quote from Shrike was this, when Selene from the Mercenary coalition decided to try and keep Period Basis and not work for BoB "We are not your version of mercs anymore" and Shrike simply responded "No" and we were sent in to clear them out and quickly, which it was done quickly and brutally.

This man shaped Eve Online, the power blocs in null Sec exist, because of how we as an alliance shaped Null Sec, you built what we allowed you to build, when G/Iron got to big for their boots, we launched three camps against them and brought them down a peg or two!

Not a bounty entry... but #justsaying ! You're invited to a PvP Party! | EVE Online

I will come up with a real name in due course, as Kshal pipped me to the post with Gigi!

I would say it is a toss up between Rasql & Stein Voorhees & Tiaan Strauss - i can't decide.

Rasql showed me a whole area of EVE that was completely new to me (PVP)

Stein gave me an invite to his corp GIM

Tiaan Strauss took me under his wing and taught me

Impossible to split between them.

Not necessarily legendary in a public sense, but 100% all legends in my books.

There is more in this thread about them:https://justabout.com/eve-online/how-did-you-join-your-first-corp-tell-us-for-dollar2#post-13064
