They are making the same mistake they did with earlier versions of Eve Online. It is supposed to be a run & gun FPS, but it's not, it's a mix of FPS/Crafting - No clear direction, no clear objectives, essentially if they do not do something about this, it is going to flop, everyone, I know who has tested this, hates it.

The only people who say they like it are the partners or fanboys and fangirls. The game right now, with the greatest of respect to CCP because we love Eve online, is a cesspit, it's boring, not engaging and then you die over and over again from NPCS which have stupid aims, NPCS are to be farmed, not life and death fights.

Not to mention if a player upgrades his/her weapon, your dead. It needs a ton of work and I hope, they do the work, but if the fan club keep saying "this is amazing" then it's going to fail, not to mention you have to be a "paid" subscriber to Eve Online to test it, so thousands of F2P players, who cant afford the full version, can't even test it and give feedback.

Can I be surprised to find out I'm not alone not being very warm toward Vanguard? 😅

There is a lot of work to be done, I agree with you, from purely mechanical parts, such as the rewards system (nothing was more dishearthing that "you died 2 times, you get 0 money, 0 exp and you lost everything" and me "All of this for nothing?! ;( " ), to more graphic parts, such as the grey on grey problem. And I find myself agreeing that if they don't do that, it won't end up well for it.

For being a "Beta" of sort, so unfinished and undetailed, it's also massive, 30gb are no small game.

Yeah, the "Omega" only was disappointing, but I felt like it was a way to "reward" Omega players and drive Omega subscriptions upward as people subscribed to play.

Had many similar questions back in December... and then suddenly decided to change my POV! Why should I treat this game like a battlefield, overwatch, or whatever?

Once I changed my point of view, the game started to reveal itself in a whole new light

P.S. Yes, you can craft ammo, and with the initial resources, you're looking at around 90 bullets, which is quite a lot. That’s enough to take down about 5-7 vanguards or 10 NPCs. Remember, this isn't a game where you indiscriminately spray bullets. Once you fire a shot, everyone's on high alert searching for you. So, make your shots count – be fast, or you'll be done for!

Enough to take 5-7 vanguards? Yeah, probably for people who played lots of first person shooters, but for players like me it's a very punishing mechanic, especially since you're dropped in without any kind explanation. To take 5-7 vanguards they all have to look the other side, stay perfectly still and let me shoot xD

It boils down to who they want to attract: the casual eve player or the hard boiled first person shooter? If it's the second then sure, it's a challenge, but it will drive most of the first away.

Like I'm not saying it's completely wrong, I'm saying that for the way it is now, it's not welcoming of players that never played first person shooters, and they do exists.

I was getting at the idea that it's not your typical arcade shooter; it’s more about stealth and being aware of your surroundings. I often find myself tracking a target for 2-4 minutes, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Unlike other games where I'd jump straight into a gunfight, here, the moment you pull the trigger, you need to be ready to exit the area swiftly and go into hiding. p.s. I'm bad at shooters too, that's why i'm careful and I go slow.
