Well that's a big poll! To compliment our Star Wars GOAT bounty (see below), who is your favourite villain? While Darth Maul, Grievous, Revan, and Thrawn are up there for me, I'm throwing in my vote for Baylan Skoll. He was such a layered and interesting villain, I read that the late, great Ray Stevenson decided that he would play him as seeing himself as morally right, and it really paid off.

It's between Maul and Grievous for me - I like Star Wars a lot, but I haven't delved into much media beyond some of the games and all of the films. I've heard very good things about Darth Revan, but I'm yet to play any of the Old Republic games.
The rumours about Revan should be trusted. I barely remember the storyline now, but I do remember it blowing my mind when I played it. Maul and Grievous are both excellent choices
Hold on! most in that list are true defenders of the United Galaxy Empire, who fight against anarchy and separatists! One empire, one nation, one love!

I still stand by my answer, darth/Annakin - This being said, Doku was a bad ass, a big, evil bad ass!

Call me basic, but Darth Vader is one of the most iconic villains of all time and I can't imagine voting for anyone else. It's not close imo!

While there are some great ones on the list, Thrawn still gets my vote, he's such a complex character and has incredible skills.

I dunno, the villians like Darth Vader, Count Dooku and Darth Maul all had back stories which explains the hardship and challenges they faced and how it led them down the paths they choose. I just hate Moff Gideon, and that is why i think he is the best villian for me :D
Giancarlo Esposito is so good at those sorts of roles!
Darth Jar Jar.
Both because of the fan theory and in a meta sense because of what he represents for many fans - he's a meta villain!
The moment I hit publish, I thought to include Darth Jar Jar. I think a greatest fan theory bounty might be in order
Has to be Maul. He crawled his way back from death and took charge of several crime syndicates including the Deathwatch Mandalorians to take revenge on those that wronged him (and generally everyone/thing).
And! He has probably the most iconic lightsaber in the SW universe.
That's hard to argue with! I really hope they bring him back (again)
