It's all well and good to launch a platform based on "free money" and a "non-toxic" environment, but what about Just About (say the last four words ten times fast) is it that makes it a community and why is it met with such nervous behaviour from people?
So let me tell you my story of how I ended up here and why I, will not leave, will happily put aside time in my day to take part in posts and bounties.
I was sitting quite happily just chucking edited videos up on YouTube, my watch went off, my phone was in the kitchen and it was tilted... "Your VIP invite to just about Eve Online" and I will be quite honest, I looked at my watch (Apple Titanium watch, so big screen), snorted, and kept doing what I was doing. However, about 2 hours later I think I was somewhat curious so I opened the email and read it.
This isn't the first time I've had such emails, asking us to join their communities, it will be good for us, we can help you etc. It's always been these tiny sites trying to get off the ground, so you rapidly lose interest once you are and then the site goes dead. But after a few emails back and forth I decided to join and here I am. I will not be leaving, well, until I annoy Alex Sinclair so much he bans me.
In terms of content, I have found Just About to be informative, helpful, and very insightful and have seen creators actually being able to post their opinions on things without a massive backlash, which you see quite prominently in other communities.
The best thing about Just About, or should I say one of the best things is the absolute zero tolerance to toxic behaviour and abusive speech and or calling people out for no reason other than their own personal enjoyment in causing huge conflict. This coupled with super mod Boomer watching the auto mod picking things up, has led to a passive yet productive environment in which I love to take part.
So bounties, for me, I don't take part in bounties I have zero clue about, or join communities I don't play, such as Smite 2, Nightingale, Elite Dangerous etc, for me, community members on Just About need to be honest so we can promote that atmosphere, within our community. But I love to take part in bounties, of course, we all love the free money, who doesn't, but the way we can earn money on Just About is probably the best part about it.
You can earn money with your videos, making silly animations, making up stories, and playing PokemonGo, I mean, the possibilities are endless of how you can make money. But people will ask, can you actually make any "decent" amount of money? The answer is yes, but like myself and others, you will need to set aside time to take part in bounties. You make money by playing games, I mean, isn't that what we all dream of being able to do?
My payout this month, which I gave to my wife who went on a shopping trip for whatever women buy, and a few months ago, our washing machine decided to die before the Just About payout and I was able to go and buy a new one with my Just About earnings. You can use These levels of money to promote real change in your lives. So, take part in bounties, earn some free money, to have fun with it, other months, I've simply transferred the money to my account from PayPal, and chucked the little kids in the car (they are my kids don't worry, not kidnapping random kids off the street!!) and taken them to the toy store and said, go nuts.
Can you learn about other games here? Absolutely. I never really played or knew anything about Final Fantasy, but since Lanah Tyra started posting videos and hugely detailed posts on the game/franchise, I have learned so much about the game without even playing it! I have seen incredible Eve Online trailers and artwork from Rixx Javix, I have learned all about animals from Horror and Cats, how to keep them, what they're about, and his own personal stories on Discord of how he rescues animals and takes care of them with him showing us pictures and videos.
I have come to have a sense of "online family" on this platform and it is something that all potential members can experience should they choose to.
There any many communities online, but I challenge anyone to find a community such as Just About, anywhere, one that embodies the sense of the words "community" and "family" in the same sense, take it from someone who has met the Just About staff IRL, they're not just nice on here, they are nice irl as well!
