We all have albums we love, but are there any for you that you would describe as perfect? What do I mean? I mean that from start to finish you can listen to it without ever wanting to skip a track. Those albums that just click and need no interference from us as the listener, no need to skip, no need to shuffle, just sit back and bask in it's glory.
I'll go first as there aren't many, for me at least, that I can class as perfect.
The first one that always comes to mind though is Weezer's Blue album. It may be short, it may only be 10 tracks but from start to finish that album is just fantastic. I'd argue that Weezer never replicated the formula for that album since. They can write infectious pop rock tunes but nothing comes close to a complete work as the Blue album.
The second is The Living End's 2000 release "Roll On". Maybe not all that well known but this Australian Trio delivered an absolute knockout blow with this record. High energy with some politically tinged tracks blended with drinking songs this album has hook after hook for me. I was devastated when I missed them play at Reading 2001 (we arrived just as they were wrapping up), and I didn't see them until 5 years later but it was well worth the wait. There's something about a three piece punk rock outfit that when you throw in the upright bass just makes them stand out. Similarly to Weezer, I don't think they ever did better than this album.
Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park is so close to perfect for me, but for one track, "Cure for the Itch". It's fine and I get it's showcasing an element of their style but it's the only minor blip on an otherwise exquisite piece!
