Now i need to recalibrate my crystall ball to a F1 :)

D

If it’s anything from the standard I’d be surprised.

Max will lead from the front and barely see another car, that’s a dead cert.

I think Hamilton will end up around 7th, after qualifying well but having some bad luck and issues throughout the race.

Russel will be the standout surprise and get on, or close to, the podium!

Norris interchangeable with Russel, either on the podium instead of, or just outside. I think he’ll have a good weekend.

Russell or Norris getting on the podium would certainly make things a little more interesting! To be honest, anything outside of a Red Bull/Ferrari split on the podium would be a touch more entertaining. Personally, I hope Zhou has a strong weekend since it's his home race, as unlikely as that may be with the car he's in at the moment.

What will happen in the F1 Chinese Grand Prix this weekend?

I only watch the recap of all the fails.I am an accident tourist...  Gimme Crash, Explosions, hot cooking emotions. Let the cars touch each other and then the tires break off… If they go 56 Laps without an accident.. than its a LAME race.

Hi Kane Carnifex, I appreciate you are bringing up an important and serious topic, but this bounty may not be the best place for it. We're not trying to stop members talking about serious topics, but they should fit the discussion post they are in. Let me know if you have any questions.

Super fine :) We can skip the park and just focus on the accidents ok?

There are too many teams and factors to consider, especially given the five-year absence of data. The overly abrasive asphalt combined with high G-force turns will significantly influence the final results. I predict that strategy will outweigh the skill in this race.

One team that excels in strategic planning is Mercedes. My 'educated' guess is to expect George Russell on the podium, or at worst, in the top five.

Seems many betting on Max Verstappen, and I can see a reason why. But since we are not gambling here for real, I still keep my vote on Mercedes =)

Max will win by a large margin!

Then for the other podium positions (outwith Perez if we dont get a RB 1/2 that is) ill say Charles Leclerc is usually among the top contenders for podium finishes and cuz I like him, I hope to see him do well! I also would love to see George Russell on the podium as he seems a chilled out dude!

Should be an exciting one since its the first time since pre covid in 2019 for all the drivers and first time in these new cars! Either way should be a fun race to watch!

Also this is one of these Sprint races, can someone give me the low down on what this actually means? is it just an add one before the GP race as i dont really get it?

Could definitely see all of that happening! Russell had a poor Sprint Qualifying this morning, but that should have no bearing on the feature race with the new rules.

Yeah, Sprint Races are essentially shorter races that take place on the day before the main race. They were introduced a few years back and have gone through a few revisions - up until this season, Sprint Races decided the grid for the main race in place of qualifying, but now they're entirely separate, so we have Sprint Race Qualifying (SRQ), Sprint Race (SR), Qualifying (Q), and the main race. SRQ happened this morning - it was quite eventful thanks to the rain, I'd recommend watching the highlights! - then we have the SR and Q tomorrow, before the main race on Sunday.

I can't imagine many shock outcomes in this one unfortunately. F1 is a little too predictable currently. We need some more innovation that will have a significant impact on the middle of the pack to propel them towards contention for more podium finishes.

Unless there's a crash or serious mechanical failure then Verstappen will win very comfortably, leading the pack start to finish.

The other podium places will be a toss up between Leclerc, Sainz, Perez, and potentially Norris in the mix if he has a flawless qualifying run.

Beyond that, I'd say Hamilton probably at 6 as he had some good success here in the past and the rest scrapping for the remaining few Driver and Constructor points between them.

I think it'll be mostly the usual condentors, I'd be suprised if it wasn't. Max will mostly likely win as always, with a propable 1st in qualifying. I'm a big fan of Lewis Hampton and would love to see him do well, but I think with the current car situation it's unlikely see him push on for the podium. It would be great to see Ricardo do well if the rumours are to be true! I would like to see Russel do well and think he could cause a upset and push for the podium places.
