This technique is quite dangerous, especially in wooded areas where roots and bumps can quickly throw you off balance. It’s also illegal in most countries, so never attempt it on public roads or when other cyclists or pedestrians are nearby.

However, I think it’s a valuable skill for competitive cyclists. It helps improve balance and teaches you to steer using your body weight and legs. It’s also essential in races when you need to drink, eat, or adjust clothing without losing precious seconds. Just be sure not to attempt this within a peloton - always move out first before taking both hands off the handlebars!
