Use an AI image generator to make an image of a piece of future tech you think will be the norm in the year 2050?

antibird's avatar

What is the worst tech/fad you actually invested good money in.

Dave's avatar

Video or text with ai image mock ups allowed. Make a funny spoof advert for a totally impractical and useless new technology item, but sell it like its the best thing ever invented and super useful, list, show or demonstrate its super useful features (that are actually rubbish).

I'm getting real Fable vibes from this 😂

how about, what invention/gadget/tech do we need that doesn’t already exist? Have a couple in mind that’d be good.

Speculative Tech - it's got a nice ring to it!🤔

  • For those of us who are older than the Internet: What is your first memory of the internet, how did you welcome it into your life and how did it change your life?

  • What was your first PC / Console and what did you love about it?

  • Tech you have to use but really dislike.

  • Is there any new invention you look at and think 'nah I'm too old for this'?

  • People in the '70 thought we will be having flying cars by now. Now it's your turn, what you think the world will look like technologically in 50 years?

  • Favourite tech from a sci-fi movie/series/book which is still not a reality even though it should be.

  • If you had unlimited money and space for it, what would be your dream gaming setup? (Really want to see if people would just buy the most expensive thing on the market or set themselves a boundary that 'this is enough')

  • There are lots of arguments over AI being good or bad. What do you think would be a good way to regulate AI or the people using it to truly make it a safe and good technological advancement.

  • There are many portable consoles these days, which one is the best value for money?

I can still hear the sound of the modem dialling in 😆

Show us your gaming set-up!

Everyone loves a good battlestation, so I'd love to see and get inspiration from them. Bonus tips for links and costs for individual items.

It's a struggle fighting the urge to upgrade when I see these 😆

Okay..

  1. What is the smallest gadget you have brought this year and why?

  2. What kind of tech would you use in a car?

  3. If you could smart-set your home, would you or not? Tell us why!

  4. Do you think novelty tech is getting old or just getting started?

Just a few ideas

Your favourite bit of tech that went nowhere! And how you think it would look today

I like the idea of reimagining old devices, sort of like a modern twist on retro-futurism

What old tech would you like to see come back with a modern twist? Given how analogue stuff is making a comeback, it could certainly be interesting.

That or what were the specs of your first PC.

Boomer's avatar

I bet submissions for the specs of your first PC one would make some of us feel really old! 😆

  • Do you have brand loyalty, and if so, what brand and why?

  • Send us a photo of your last PC upgrade.

  • Make a case for the best resolution and refresh rate balance.

  • Rant about your biggest tech pet peeve and see how many people agree.

  • Cloud gaming services: yay or nay?

  • Pop on your nostalgia goggles and tell us what you miss about older technology

  • What's the best tech deal you've ever snagged?

Boomer's avatar

There's a lot of great suggestions here! You don't have to pick, but which would be top of your list to discuss?

Is it literally the one at the top of your list? 😅

Damien Mason's avatar

Yeah, it probably would be the top one. It was the first one I thought of and it stands strong. Biggest tech pet peeve and best tech deal are probably close secondaries.

It would be fun to watch a debate unfold over whether playstation or Xbox is the better console heheh

Sturmer's avatar

I thought that dission is sorted out: PC it better, followed by magical Nintendo Swich =))))

Boomer's avatar

Everyone out here rehashing the console wars while we all know the one true answer...

Boomer's avatar

That's an interesting one! Maybe you could suggest examples of how ChatGPT's responses would be used, i.e. which job role or hobbies and what response would they want?
