Taking the Game out of Game & Watch, Nintendo enters the housewares section with Alarmo, a Nintendo take on the bedside alarm clock.
Featuring sleep tracking technology and game themed arms, Alarmo is an interesting direction for Nintendo.
Boomer had made an interesting post a couple of months ago about brands branching out, outside their norm i.e. supermarkets using social media so I guess this is another one of a brand going outside their market.
What do people think?
I think Nintendo has established such a strong character specific franchise and brands that they can be used to market other items such as alarm clocks - similar to Garfield's explosion outside the newspaper daily funnies, and most famously, Disney and Hello Kitty into almost anything you can think of.
