I genuinely believe that Americans truly got a taste of how other people outside Western media view their country. For a lot of Americans, seeing just how bad the quality of life was compared to others using RedNote broke the glass. A lot of them found it all quite enlightening.

I think as Shovel said, most Americans have lived in this bubble thinking America was the greatest place to live etc and TikTok has shown them that this is not even close to true and the congress/government was losing its grip on power. This scared the hell out of them.

There are now, from what I'm seeing on ABC or w/e it is, more young people considering running for office. Banning TikTok has just shown the American people that China is not a threat to anyone and never has been, these hacking attempts are the same that America and the UK do, it's just posturing, but they painted China as this massive devil in sheep clothing and it was sad to see Americans swallowing it whole.

The American homeless issue is just so massive that it is a complete joke they do nothing about it and the health care system, costs thousands of dollars for a simple blood test, they post this on social media and everyone is like, I'm sorry you pay what?

Yes exactly, and I think those who keep up to date with the current news and world affairs (basically what Sky and BBC don't show you) already have a good idea of how harsh places like America and the UK are, it gets pushed the propaganda of "the American dream", well what dream? to end up in millions of dollars of debt if you want to either pursue an education or maybe want to become a mother? To know that the money you are paying towards tax isn't even something that helps them as the American people but is spent on weapons overseas to other countries.
