I think most of us can appreciate how the world has changed with tech but growing up, we just got hand-me downs.
The most common is probably mobile phones. Being the youngest in my family - I got phones that had passed through almost every member of the family, from father, to mother, to brother, to middle sister and then me.
Suffice to say, being last in the chain just made me appreciate even outdated and old tech even more (probs this is why I'm a bit of a retro-phile).
I've been getting into vinyl and record collecting so scavenging through my parents place I was able to find a Technics SL-1200 turntable. Needed a new cartridge, needle, and TLC but being able to form a distant connection between the first owner of the turntable - my grandma (RIP) as we spin different records is something that mixes spiritual and technologies.
So what was your best tech hand-me-down? And do you do the same with your tech like old MP3s or CD players?
