Ubisoft closing inactive accounts

Ubisoft are closing down accounts that have not been logged into for x years by giving 30 days notice to prevent the closure. Speculation this also applies to accounts with game purchases or linked purchases via other stores although there is conflicting info on this across different forums and sites.

Personally I would expect any account that has purchases/licenses tied to it to be available forever. I could understand a deactivation due to inactivity for security reasons but not a full deletion.
