For me it was an arcade cabinet.
I've always had a fascination with arcade cabinets. Growing up they had the cooler looking games and better graphics but also in the late 90's-00's they were also quickly dying out. So not having easy access to them only made me want them more.
Fast forwards to my 30's and Arcade1Up start making replica cabinets. I'm not so nostalgic for the Pac Mans and Street Fighter II - to me they are too commonplace finding their spot in many a classic arcade game collection. But the later games that Capcom made like Street Fighter III and the MvC series had me from the graphics, gameplay, and variety of characters.
This is why I had to grab the MvC2 machine when it came out. Cost a fair bit (close to $700!) and more to replace the garbage stock parts but being able to load it up for 5-10mins of play is a dream come true for me.
