No, your girl didn't get invited as I'm still a very small creator no matter how long I've been playing or know about the game. I need JA to become a big, respected platform so my content here will get noticed and I might get invited to the next one.... or you know... just grab a few links to my articles and send them to Yoshi-P... ;)
There were a few long-time players who have been creating content for the game since it launched invited again, and they didn't disappoint with their coverage. MrHappy provided us with some great, short videos about job changes and asked some very good questions from the community in his interview with producer Naoki Yoshida (Yoshi-P) which you can watch here:
I love it how on JA creators small and big get a chance to participate in everything and get rewarded for their contributions. Sadly it's not this easy when it comes to game studios selecting from the myriad content creators who to invite to a media tour. I spent my day checking out content from people who got an invite and I've never heard of before, which is interesting how did that happen when I do get quite a few recommendations thrown at me by the various platform algorithms, you would think that someone as active in the FFXIV community as I am, would have at least heard of everyone who matters? Apparently not. I've seen some coverage which doesn't quite hit my expectations of quality content from someone who gets invited to such special occasions, but I also found some really great first-time interviewers, who clearly have a great passion for the game and put time and effort into learning all about it and prepared with meaningful questions. Nice to see these new creators of our community get some recognition. Here is my favourite newcomer of the media tour, Quazii FFXIV:
Not every creator streams 7 days a week or put out a video every week, because they might focus on a specific type of content, like raid guides. We get a certain number of them in each expansion, and if you posted your guides for them, you are pretty much done, unless you also want to stream your progression through these fights or post regular videos of helping other people clear these raids. So I was very pleased to see one excellent raid guide maker getting an invitation, and oh boy he didn't disappoint with the quality of this guide, which starts with an explanation of how the skill combos of the new job, Viper work, then shows us some of the new abilities of existing jobs as well. Even if you know nothing about the game, I highly suggest for you to check out the style of this video, because it's absolute prime content presentation:
So... have you sent those emails? ;)
