Back in the early 2010's there was a trend of fan-funding of games. Spear-headed by Kickstarter and thus dubbed 'Kick-Started', we got a lot of games and projects that helped show publishers that there un-tapped markets and customers not being catered towards.
Double Fine are probably the most famous with their Double Fine Adventure game Broken Age calling back to old school point-and-click games. However the darker side of this were companies utilising fan funding as another avenue for financing the game such as Shenmue 3.
Have you ever kickstarted a game? Which One? And were you happy with the finished product?
I had backed Indivisible since I was a big fan of their previous work SkullGirls and really enjoyed the art style of the games the team makes. I've only gotten round to playing the game and whilst I don't think it is worth a full retail release - I'm glad I have this as a piece of history.
