It’s really encouraging to see how live events like Devcom 2024 continue to evolve and remain in high demand. I had the chance to chat with a few participants and exhibitors randomly, and though each provided their own unique perspective, one thing was clear: this event is incredibly inspirational.
One standout was the roundtable session on how citizen science and real health studies are being integrated into game mechanics, with players actually helping train AI systems. This session, led by Bergur Finnbogason (Eve Online), was truly eye-opening.
The overall atmosphere - from indie developer booths to networking parties - made the event feel like a big community. If you want a deeper dive into what makes it so special, check out my detailed Devcom 2024 coverage and photo gallery!
What do you think about live conferences? Yay or nay? With all the modern online tools, some think live events are outdated, but what’s your take? Have you ever participated in one?
