I genuinely miss the days where each consoles library were like 90% exclusives. It made it so much more interesting. Take the Saturn and PS1. Vastly different machines with wildly different libraries that utilised the systems strengths to create unique experiences.

Without exclusives there's no point in having different consoles available. Maybe that’s what Xbox is after since their console has fallen well behind PlayStation and Nintendo?

Really miss the strong, edgy Xbox of the 360 era which was a blast, full of awesome games!

Nope Xbox has all these studios under there belt which hopefully will start producing some epic games they should keep them exlslusive and build the Xbox brand for the long haul, I feel they are consistently devaluing the brand and in particular the console just to try and fit their narrative that console gaming is no longer popular or growing which then allows them to try and ship there average games on every platform possible just to try and make back some money from the 70 billion they spent buying Activision?

Anyone else feel like it’s no longer “Xbox” leadership in charge and it’s now “Microsoft” calling the shots?

And this isn’t a dig piece where I am just throwing negativity at Xbox, I genuinely love Xbox but I am sad to see how poorly they have performed in recent years, I probably have more Xbox’s in my hood than any console! That even includes current gen as I have 2 series s and a series x!

I think ultimately unfortunately Xbox goal now is to have everyone and everything on gamepass and just stream it from the cloud, the idea of physical consoles and games going away is just grim to me and I don’t like it. Once everyone is forced to be locked into that ecosystem to play games we are going to be playing a lot of money for games and we will own nothing.

Anyways I’ve just had my lunch and I saw a post about halo coming to PlayStation which made me think how hard have they fumbled, the fact that even Phil Spencer said in an interview that if Starfield was a 10/10 game (which it was far from being just like most other Xbox exclusives unfortunately) it won’t shift systems . This is wrong. Exclusives and GOOD exclusives sell systems, it’s fact.

Look at PlayStation with all its incredible exclusives which is the reason people buy PlayStation, then Nintendo with its amazing exclusives year after year.

Xbox wants to be everywhere but at the same time it’s actually nowhere, as it’s falling so far from the tree that it has lost so much mind share on the general public, PlayStation and Nintendo are everywhere, Xbox not so much, even mind share in stores the physical game section for Xbox is almost non existent due to gamepass but the other 2 have strong selections of games available.

GamePass is also another interesting beast, and basically is all Xbox cares about now, but currently it’s good value if your interested in any of Xbox first party games which launch day one on the service, but this has had a negative impact on that hardly anyone buys games on the system now. You will regularly hear “is it on GamePass?” Or “I will wait for it to drop on GamePass”, which is showing GamePass has been conditioning the gamers on the Xbox platform not to buy games, which is why to make some money back from the massive studio purchases Xbox has made recently they are shipping there exclusives to PlayStation and Nintendo as they DO buy games.

I really hope Xbox does not leave the hardware market ever as Sony needs the strong competition otherwise they get complacent and expensive!

What does Xbox need to do to right the ship? One Great place to stare that would help more than anything is a consistent launch of great games that are in a polished state! hopefully this will start with the new Indiana jones game! 🤞
