The winter festivities have started in the world of Final Fantasy XIV. The equivalent of Christmas in Eorzea is called Starlight. You will see the usual winter decorations, tall evergreen trees with baubles and lights, with snow falling in all major cities. Yes, even in the desert town of Ul’dah and on the beach of Costa del Sol. We are not going to question how is it possible, will just take it as the season's magic.
The quests usually involve helping children or lost souls to enjoy the festivities and the Saint of Nymeia - who is none other than the wealthiest man of the realm - also makes an appearance.
What makes the event special this year is the new area which has been created for this event specifically and is only available during the event period. We had such a special area before, created for the Halloween event, where you could visit a haunted mansion and turn into well-known NPCs . This has been very popular among players who spend more time in photo mode than they are willing to admit, and it was a much welcome surprise to see another such special area.
This time our task is to help set up the Starlight Market. Thanks to the Saint of Nymeia, we also get a little helper, a chocobo equipped with a festive barding and a cask of kinderpunsch which we can distribute among the residents working on setting up the market stalls.
Once the market is complete and you can wander around the area freely you will see some familiar NPCs depending on your progression in the main story quest and side guests.
Here are a few screenshots of the completed Market, but I'll leave it to you to explore the area and find some familiar faces. And in case you haven't done the event yet, you still have some time to do so before the next seasonal event, the celebration of the new year starts.
