Xbox has really fumbled these last few gens.

Consumers will just want the more expensive and complete product- releasing two that are too similar was a mistake plus the naming is confusing so gotta be a Nay

they haven't half, and i agree they have the worst naming conventions going in gaming, i feel for all the kids who wanted and Xbox series s or x when they launched and got an Xbox one s or one x instead! Or heck, even now as "Everything is an Xbox" someone might get gifted an amazon firestick when they wanted an Xbox for their birthday!

They should just come up with wild names like Xbox Quantum, Xbox Unboxed, Xbox Infinity etc. That way they avoid being compared to the PlayStation but they have distinct names for each version.

haha if only Xbox would be so creative, from the team that brought us Xbox one, Xbox One S, Xbox One S all digital edition, Xbox One X, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X — Like come on Xbox wtf?

I think that 'Everything is an Xbox' is largely outdated. Wasn't it Obama that made this reference!?

i used a 2TB external HD, and left the internal drive minimal, seemed to improve performance, but with xbox moving to a monopoly mentality, and insisting on xbox hardware which they are gouging people for, i walked away from consoles altogether, unless i want to play the collection of xbox discs that i like, call of duty or medal of honour series for example.

i've got a one s, disc drive, it's "adequate", i mean for when your pc is out of commision, but as a gaming rig it's a poor excuse, something that is good for casual gaming, you know, an afternoon on the weekend with some mates every now and again, that's about the only advantage, that you can sit beside your friend and play 2+ up on the same machine, my first 6 years of ED was on an xbox, as i said it was adequate, but the limitations of consol are a detriment to my mind, all consol companies have limitations on capabilities, they are basically a glorified commodore 64 or amiga, not purposed for the massive processing power required for most pc games, while they have amazing graphics capabilities their processing power falls short, as is evidenced by the limitation of the games you can play, or having to sacrifice resolution quality to use the gpu to do the necessary calculations, either that or just dumb down the game to run, but at best it's a compromise, i bought an xbox after my main rig was damaged by rodents in a mouse plague, no they didn't chew the wires, it was simply that rodent urine is highly acidic, and dissolves the solder joints on the chips, anyway, i had to find a new wholesale supplier of computer parts as my regular supplier could not deliver to where i had moved, so i spent $200 on a refurbished xbox one s, to continue gaming at some lvl as i was completing paying my mortgage and everyone knows how the the covid economy and before was, all in all for a casual gamer it's an adequate machine, simple games, casual play,

but the minute you step up, and build yourself even a mid range gaming pc, all competition from consoles evaporates, the infinite expansion of the amount of games you have access too, and the quality that can be experienced in graphics and processing power just blows consoles out of the water, and the ability to just upgrade components at a whim for the new game just leaves consoles for dead and it's much cheaper to buy a new graphics card than buying the "next gen" console, which is probably just a redesigned outer casing,

it's all a matter of whether you're content with mediocre, or you want something more, i haven't booted my xbox one for over 2 years, since i built a rig to play the upgraded Elite Dangerous Oddy, which even the latest consoles can't run,

it's chalk and cheese really,

have fun 07

I don't own or play on consoles. If developers have to expect weaker hardware, it's likely that my current PC will be able to handle such games as well.
Limitations often cause creativity. In this case, creative solutions to make software more effective, even with weaker hardware.

I think that's a net benefit for the consumer.
