Do people still really think things being canon are important?
A lot of fandoms around there, specially from Star Trek and Star Wars still does .
for me this is like saying a sequel is ruining a franchise, looks like the the original movies and tv shows have been alternated some how, it's kind absurd for me. The original will be the same thing, for exemple Alien and Aliens are masterpiece independent from the Alien 3 and resurrection that are terrible movies and are cannon.
I always thought Alien 3 was terrible, but then I saw the full directors cut. It’s basically a completely different movie. Still definitely not GOOD, but it would have been so much better if the studio hadn’t gotten all cut-happy
