But a picture is worth a thousand words, as they say, so let's embrace that shortcut. A mood board is an arrangement of images, materials, or pieces of text inteded to evoke a particular style or concept. Here's an example. For this reward, we want you to create such a collage to depict the essence of one of your favourite characters in books or comics.

Your mood board must be an original image created by you in image-editing software and submitted through connected social media, but it can consist of existing third-party images.

Find us the perfect combination to tell us everything we need to know about your chosen character in pictorial form! The more, the better, and artistic flair in their arrangement will get you further points to a prize. We reserve the right not to award three or four uninspired images pasted onto a white screen!

Important note: don't just include a bunch of images of the character themselves - we want to know what they're like, not how they've actually been depicted in comics or other official adaptations. If you want to include a depiction, we suggest picking just one highly evocative image and putting it in the centre of your mood board, and surrounding it with images that speak to their essence, not their literal likeness.
