If another person uses your content and you are not a YouTube partner, it will not flash up under "copyright" - As with non-partners you can only file removal requests, as a partner, YouTube adds you to their scans and you are notified when they pick up your content on other channels.

If he uses your content without permission you can file a removal request, unless he is willing to contest it in court, he will remove it.

If he uses your content with permission and he is a partner i.e. monetized, that video's income will be sent directly to you as YouTube will flag it automatically, you however can remove your copyright claim at whim so he/she can monetise the video for themselves.

I do NOT advise allowing anyone to use your content, because it can set you in a chain motion, your content is what makes you money and is your style/creation, do not allow others to use it.

As for views/subscribers - If people are watching his video and see a clip of yours, you are highly unlikely to gain anything out of it.

Take it from someone who once nearly lost there channel because of "permissions" being revoked.

But I’m talking about a direct remix from the video itself… not someone using some other means to put up my content.

Yes, but the remix is "using" other people's content, that is how YouTube sees it, even if he takes a 5-second clip of your content and puts it into a short, YouTube will still flag it under copyright grounds, which you will have to manually remove the claim.

So it doesn’t credit the original clipped content at the bottom? I'm just trying to understand the empirical function of the feature.

Okay, now I see, sorry, no, no credit will be given to the original creator. Only the uploader i.e listing there name
