Aside from posting on different social media sites / different content formats, has anyone done any paid for advertising or marketing for their content?
I’ve dabbled a bit with it for my blog/newsletter. The costs are very high but as a new customer you can get some very good deals, like £400 of google advertising (after spending a few hundred), Reddit offers a $500 credit on a matched spend, as does x I think.
I found it was costing me about £4 per newsletter sign up via meta ads, and with lots of optimisation & testing on Google search ads, I got it down to just under £2 per sign up & a 43% conversion rate on ad clicks to subs thanks to getting the search intent well targeted. An amazingly high conversion rate in my opinion. This gives me really high confidence on the viability of the newsletter/membership site if I can eventually organically rank well for the key words.
Next up I was thinking about getting 500 or so leaflets printed and hand delivering them door to door in some areas to see how the costs of that pans out.
Anyone done anything like this or have you all just stuck to organic discovery and hoping things just go your way?
