I'm about 12 hours in. I kept the same ones for a long time and nothing happened. Swapped them around when higher level ones turn up lately (didn't know only your own pawn levelled).
Quite enjoying that part/system in the game, it's quite cool how if someone's hired then fires your pawn they come back with a gift off the player themselves (feel a bit bad for gifting rotting fruit and off meat when firing mine before I realised an actual payer gets the gift!). When I say they come back, they don't actually leave you, they are in both games.
Quite a fun mechanic how you could end up hiring someone else's pawn thats infected who then proceeds to infect your own pawn if you aren't careful!
It's nice how it plays like a 4 player squad game in a way but is single player.
