One of mine started complaining of having a headache so I threw them in the nearest water, then hired a different one as soon as I could!

oh my, completely forgot about that! Thanks for the heads up! What are the symptoms? I remember hearing something about red eyes a while ago but i might be misremembering?

red eyes, weird behavior, and disobeying orders

I think I recruited one once. As soon as we came out of the rift she sat on the floor and another pawn told her off, and she just scoffed. I immediately went back in the rift and swapped her out

One of my final actions the other night before heading to bed was to spend 5,000 RC at a Rift of Remembrance to bring back a pawn I had a while ago, who had now leveled up to 50+ whereas I'm still in the mid-30s. The second I recruited her, I got the Dragonsplague pop-up warning for the first time. That was all of my RC gone in an instant. Had to immediately dismiss her and my other recruited pawn just to be safe...

The first time a tutorial screen pops up telling you, that is a hint that one of the pawns has it. Strangely for me the infected pawns didn't disobey me not once, neither did they have glowing eyes. for me it was the headaches

If it does happen that everyone winds up dead you can use an eternal wake stone if you do have one, which will resurrect all the dead in your effective area. It will even tell you how many are dead and will be brought back to life. You can get them from the chest upon defeating The Sphinx after solving all of its riddles in the A Game of Wits sidequest. You can also make duplicates of this item by traveling to Checkpoint Rest Town and requesting a forgery from Ibrahim, essentially allowing you to buy an unlimited supply. Regular Wakestones when forged become Wokestones :D but a forgery of an Eternal Wakestone seems to function identically to the original.

That's interesting about the headaches. I noticed that there was a very specific spot on the map where all my pawns stopped and clutched their head like in that screenshot. It was when I went back to the very start of the game, where the tutorial tells you to pick up rocks, they would all stop and grab their head. I wonder if they were all infected? Do I need to throw them all into the ocean?

I didn't throw this pawn into the ocean yet. I cannot confirm but i'm 99% sure that is what the headaches look like, It was a rotation of stretching and this headache animation which i have never seen until I hired this pawn. Because I had about 5 eternal wakestones in my inventory I wasn't afraid so I wanted to test. I continued travelling normally, and sleeping at inns as usual, nothing happened yet. But then my main pawn started doing those animations and the pawn I hired didn't do that anymore. I suspect that it will always infect your main pawn and your main pawn does the killing, someone correct me if I'm wrong. When I saw my main pawn doing that I threw her into the ocean and until today no issues so far :D

Is there any evidence of a pawn sitting down for a rest as being a symptom? Iv had this a few times but they havnt disobeyed an order, it was just while walking arround.

Sturmer's avatar

Try to talk to them, and look at their eyes! if they are red, toss that pawn into a body of water

Konquest's avatar

I found out that the sitting down is often due to their inclination, Straightforward. They will tend to sit down and give funny remarks like taking the easy ways to do things or being lazy :D

I thought the same but wanted to make sure. Thanks
