You’ve whacked moles, smashed pinatas, and found Orbital Stashes. Our final GM Week 2023 bounty asked you to look to the future and conjure up the activities you’d like to see at next year’s GM Week. You’ll find our favourite suggestions below. Have a read through them and then vote in the poll below to add your voice as the community decides which idea you like best. We can’t make any promises that it’ll get acted upon (disclaimer), but we’ll let CCP know what the most popular ideas were!

Highsec roam
Cpt Armarlio enjoyed watching the GMs’ Nullsec roam streams. But next year, they want them to solo roam in Highsec. The GMs, flagged as suspect, could spend the day roaming as they drop their cans there for players to find.
GM trivia stream
Schadsquatch is no stranger to a great stream, and next year, they want the GMs to get quizzical by running a trivia stream. The GMs could host it and dish out loot for correct answers. Schad recommends Imminent Entropy’s trivia tech as the foundation.
The Game Masters’ Great Migration, aka the GM’s GM
EVEIL’s idea is to send the GMs on a perilous journey across space. The GMs would set off from a safe spot like Jita flying ships at least the size of battlecruisers. From there, they would fly towards a pre-announced destination about ten jumps away. It would be capsuleers’ mission to stop them getting there. Like a game of cosmic bulldog.
Additional requirements could be added, such as visiting certain landmarks en route. While the GMs could choose to work together, EVEIL reckons it would be more fun for them if they were each left to fend for themselves and race to the finish line.
As this is GM Week, each GM would of course have their cargo holds laden with goodies, and EVEIL also suggests PLEX contracts that pay out to the players who deal the most damage. “Allowing people to earn rewards is better than having ninja looters scooping up the rewards.”
We know EVEIL has at least one vote from Armalio, who simply replied “THIS.”
GM fleet vs EVE vs GM fleet
FUN INC suggested two different ideas, and having tried both, can attest to their fun factor. The first of them is a GMvPvGM battle complete with multiple outcomes and minitasks. Here are funinc’s rules:
Two mirrored fleets, Fleet A and Fleet B, are formed of identical comp, numbers, and doctrine.
Both fleets yeet, and each FC advises the other of their yeet location, with Fleet A setting its destination to Fleet B, and vice versa.
The midpoint of the journey is the staging point for the battle of the fleets. And it’s here that they’ll slug it out to the death.
The twist is that each fleet must reach the staging point. They can take whichever route they choose but will have to use all their wits so as not to lose ships in unnecessary engagements en route. To this rule, funinc adds: “hey, this is EVE after all.”
If one of the fleets is destroyed, the other fleet is the winner. If, however, neither fleet is completely destroyed, then one of following criteria would determine the victor:
total ISK destroyed before staging
number of kills along the way
pilots killed
Megaman
Funinc credits Luggy and El Geo for his second idea, although he’s added a few personal touches. Megaman would be a game of coordination and theorycrafting. The game begins with each ship fitted with only one high, one mid, and one low slot. However, each ship can be fully kitted out with rigs and drones.
Once the battle begins, combatants are able to fit any of the modules equipped to ships that they kill, allowing for some “odd and unconventional” fits while also incentivising teamwork.
There are additional rules specific to certain hulls. Interdictors are allowed bubbles and microwarpdrives, but no electronic warfare. Interceptors can swap their high slot for two mid slots.
Here are the rest of the rules, requirements, and restrictions:
Looting of wrecks on gates is allowed
Ratting in belts and on gates is allowed
Probing is encouraged to scan mobile depots and Mobile Tractor Units (MTUs)
Every player needs to bring mobile depots to allow for refits
Only one module can be added per ship, per kill, so that loot spreads evenly between players
Players should work together to optimise fits and collaborate for the best possible outcome
Any ship is welcome, but don’t fly what you can’t afford to lose
Last pilot standing
The final suggestion comes from MacGybo, who suggests a multi-stage contest akin to the old Abyssal Arena 1v1 events. Players would enter in advance and take part in qualifying matches before the main event. The winners would go on to be matched against the GMs to see if any regular joes could take on the masters. The competition could be streamed with big prizes on offer “or just for pride and bragging rights!”
Now you’ve seen the six suggestions, take part in the poll below to decide the winner. We’ll share your recommendation next time we talk to CCP!
