In the runup to Havoc, we launched three bounties and three polls asking members of Just About EVE Online to share their homemade propaganda and vote on their faction of choice. The first was the Gallente Federation vs the Caldari State, the second pitted the Amarr Empire against the Minmatar Republic, and the finale was a pirate face-off between the Guristas and the Angel Cartel. As a result, we can now bring you a selection of the finest faction propaganda in New Eden, all created and submitted by our creative EVE Online community. We also share the results of the companion polls to see where our members currently fly their flags and decide once and for all: which faction is best? (Or, at least, most popular.)
Gallente vs Caldari
Considered protectors of individual liberty by some and as sanctimonious hypocrites by others, the Gallente Federation are EVE’s self-styled idealists and democrats. But their mass-market entertainment only goes so far in hiding the great wealth inequality that permeates their federation. The Caldari State is smaller in size, but they always mean business; an authoritarian and militaristic nation, founded on values of duty and industriousness, their formidable economic and military strength is spread through ever-powerful corporations, each composed of thousands of smaller companies in a web of intentional bureaucracy and unaccountability.
Gallente and Caldari have a long, fierce history of war with no clear winner in sight. But who was the victor of Just About EVE’s battle of the capitalists?

‘For Caldari!’ faction propaganda
While Caldari took the poll, your propaganda submissions favoured the Gallente Federation with five images submitted compared to Caldari’s four. Lots of those came from AlexGoesTheWorld, like this piece made for the Caldari Militia Poster Contest YC199 (2017). Original post

Here are three more fantastic pieces from Miyoshi Akachi, starting with a blueprint showcasing Gallentean battleship design.
Amarr vs Minmatar
Few intergalactic grievances are as personal as those between the Amarr and Minmatar. The Amarr Empire is New Eden’s largest, a ritualistic, theocratic monarchy that enslaved the Minmatar for seven centuries. While many Matari are still enslaved, the Great Rebellion freed enough of them that they became a force to be reckoned with. Tribal, resilient, and fiercely independent, the forces of the Minmatar Republic may be scattered, but they’re still some of the most feared in the systems.

‘For Amarr!’ faction propaganda
Despite winning the poll with 66% of the vote, Minmatar didn’t receive any faction propaganda submissions. For Amarr, that was a different story entirely. For starters, check out greybill’s divine artwork designed for YC124’s Foundation Day.
“This was part of a series I worked on back when I was trying to figure some things out and having some fun with photoshop. Back then my EVE work was still more of a hobby than anything else.”
Angel Cartel vs Guristas Pirates
New Eden is not short of pirates. They may not be at war with each other - each opting to be a wildcard element in one of the two empire wars - but we still wanted to know which of the now-joinable pirate factions our community favoured.
The Angel Cartel are the largest and best organised of all the pirates. Based in Curse, their influence spans the known systems. Rumoured to have uncovered ancient Jovian tech, the Angels - led by the Dominations - wield their immense power ruthlessly.
While the Angels are marked by their fascination with technology, the Guristas are driven by a singular guiding purpose: lust for power and wealth. Founded by two ex-members of the Caldari Navy, the charismatic Fatal and the technocrat Rabbit, the Guristas Pirates are masters of the black market with smuggling, counterfeiting, human trafficking, and illegal weapons manufacture operations which are a constant thorn in Caldari's side.

‘For the Guristas!’ faction propaganda
Though our community favoured the Angels in our poll and the propaganda battle, the Guristas weren’t far behind. Here’s a piece hot off the propaganda press: Rixx Javix created the artwork below for Havoc’s launch. We can imagine this one spreading terror in K-space stations.
‘For the Angels!’ faction propaganda
A fun fact about the Azariel - the new Angel titan - is that it’s based on the Angel Cartel logo when seen from above. Miyoshi has their own take, this time combining the logo with a Dramiel instead. This one was also fresh from the printer for this bounty, and we love it.
