Lots more where that came from, I suspect!

Not at all, I almost wrote it myself 😀

Spycraft is my favorite!

Alex Sinclair's avatar

And what's your favourite kind of spycraft?

Disguise and Social Engineering, which involve using false identities to infiltrate corporations and then manipulating people into divulging the information I seek. And no, I'm not gonna tell more, even for bounty ;)

One thing I would like to add to this is sabotaging contracts. Basically creating a contract with a similar naming convention but putting it where people normally resupply in the frontline.

Often or not people are told to buy a contract from certain corporations or player, but people do not listen. They see the ship they want at the price they want and maybe a bit lower and buy them.

This can disrupt activity especially in combat when you have not only the wrong ammo, but sometimes the wrong type of gun.

That's delightfully sneaky. Great shout!

Did you hear the one about the scam AT contract?

A player rolled a new toon called Conkordoken, and sent an item exchange contract to all the AT captains that won ships. One captain unfortunately fell for it, and yes, you can guess what happened. 16 AT ships valued at 3 trillion isk gone. For context that kill that Rixx Javix got the other day was valued at 250BN (or thereabouts) - this dude ran off with 8 of them and also 8 assault frigates.

Oh ouch. That's really got to sting. Was retribution ever delivered?

FUN INC's avatar

Sadly not - scamming is sadly part of EVE online. :(

Measure twice cut once.

Its really about taking advantage of the lazy players in EVE. Sometimes though you don't really have time to play so you want to just grab a ship and go.

However, that speaks to the design of the game to me, because every decision that you make has some kind of consequence, no matter how dire it is.

And not staying vigilant could mean your going into a combat scenario with no guns or the wrong guns/ammo equipped.
