Just About EVE Online is home to plenty of EVE aficionados, veterans, and content creators. Consider them our watchmen, keeping guard over our growing community and keeping our feeds fed with great content. But they’re not the only EVE content creators out there, so instead of asking ‘who watches the watchmen?’, we wanted to know ‘whom do our watchmen watch’?
One of our community’s content creators, Schadsquatch, suggested we run a bounty asking for recommendations for EVE’s best content creators. And that’s exactly what we did. Below, you’ll find recommendations and descriptions for a selection of excellent EVE Online streamers, YouTubers, and other creators. You’ll discover what type of content they create, what they do better than others, and why you should give them your precious time.
Warning ⚠️ Some of the videos embedded below use strong language.
Masser Phi
Our first recommendation is both from and for a YouTuber. EveOnlineTutorials recommends the lighthearted and entertaining content of Masser Phi. Here’s why:
“Masser is one of my faves. It’s not that I don’t like other EVE content creators, but I dislike showy ‘look what I can do’ content. To new players, it can come across as ‘look what I can do and you can’t’. Masser, meanwhile, is all about the ambush, the cloakies, and the funnies. When he opens the enemy cargo holds, you wince at the ISK value of what he’s just destroyed in a wormhole.”
If you want to check out Masser Phi’s content, the best place to start is his YouTube channel.
Serg Sinist
Ever since the face-palming rise of the so-called wealth guru, YouTube has been full of dubious get-rich-quick videos. Thankfully, when it comes to Serg Sinist, he really knows how to boost your income - in ISK at least. According to Melicien Tetro, he’s a great guy to fly with too. Plus, he won’t even make you pay $49.99 a month to sign up for a Hustlers University course.
“I made trillions off this guy’s content long before discovering that he’s actually a great guy on grid too. He will teach you to make money in wormhole space. Just find one of his concepts and run it. I cannot recommend his ACAP (As Cheap As Possible) series enough. It’s a great starting place for serious wormhole farming. Good luck and may Bob roll ever in your favour.”
Most of Serg’s video content is in Russian, but it comes with English subtitles. The best place to find it is his YouTube channel, although we also recommend viewing his EVE Workbench profile where you’ll find dozens of great ship fits. Someone sign him up for our next shipshape bounty!
CrashNaps
The next EVE creator on our list has already signed up to Just About. CrashNaps is an FC, a YouTuber, and as the British say, ‘an all-round good bloke’. If you watch EVE content on YouTube, chances are that you’ve already come across some of his work. His shorts often feature as recommended content, like this one where we witness the Lethal Company death of Schadsquatch - the JA member who recommended him. Crash makes content that you won’t find anywhere else, such as this EVE parody of Space Oddity [⚠️ language warning ⚠️] which is now seared permanently into my mind. Here’s Schad:
“Crash focuses on solo PvP content. His knowledge of frigate PvP is deep, and he has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to small gang fights. He has a tremendous sense of humour that‘ll have you on the floor laughing. And he’s such a welcoming guy; he’s one of the nicest FCs you’ll ever come across, and he’s always positive regardless of what’s happening in-game.
“He’s always thinking about his community and ensuring his streams are engaging and informative. He’s very eager to collaborate with other streamers, which is always nice to see. He has a bunch of tier lists that he’s done with other creators; they’re definitely worth a read or listen. Overall, he’s a really swell guy, and he deserves this love.”
The best places to start your CrashNaps crash course are his YouTube and Twitch channels.
EVE University
Before there was EVE Academy, there was EVE University. While the other creators on this list are individuals, EVE University is a collective of experienced EVE players who spend their spare time helping others learn about the game. That includes running EVE’s largest wiki, known as UniWiki. Sturmer makes a great case for shining our spotlight on EVE University:
“My favourite creator is unique, with countless names and voices. Their incredible journey began in 2004, initiated by a capsuleer named Morning Maniac. Two decades later, it’s nearly impossible to find a pilot who hasn’t been assisted ‘by the EVE wiki’ at least a few times. It’s an extensive knowledge base crafted by dedicated volunteers. Within its pages, you’ll find everything from life-saving mission data to strategies, guides, and other detailed explanations.
“In my view, it’s the cornerstone of the entire EVE community. It’s a beacon of collective effort and wisdom, and it truly deserves to be highlighted and celebrated.”
You can learn more about EVE University on their website, as well as on YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook. Pack your bags, freshman. We’re off to college.
Erst
The next content creator can be found under a variety of aliases: ErstPlays, Erst, and Erstchlag. Erst has been producing useful content and great streams for years, with his most recent batch being a YouTube series on Homefront Operations. FUN INC was keen to recommend him:
“I love this guy. He’s so chill, friendly, and welcoming. He’s grown as a streamer, YouTuber, and more importantly as an EVE player. In recent years, he’s started to FC - something which he would 100% have shied away from in his earlier years. These days he’s always at the front of the queue, giving out advice, helping, and listening. He’s willing to learn and help others learn in the process. He’s so engaged with his audience. I genuinely feel that he’s a massive asset to EVE’s streaming, YouTubing, and content-creating community.”
The best starting points for Erst’s content are YouTube and Twitch.
Aceface
Aceface, also known as Aceyface, is a family-friendly YouTube channel that’s great for viewers of all experience levels. His content ranges from “EVE Online for dummies” up to T6 Abyssal fit guides. His channel is well-organised and creative; you won’t just find run-of-the-mill content ideas there, you’ll find viewing material that you won’t find anywhere else. It’s no surprise then that orik Kado chose to nominate him.
“Selecting just one content creator is a tough job. There’s so much variety and quality content out there that it would be unfair to focus on just one. However, I have a particular admiration for Aceface.
“He’s my favourite content creator due to his innovative ideas, ship experiments for different types of ISK-generating activities, guides from Alpha to Omega, and he even has a video where he’s ratting with a bomber in Nullsec (something I never thought I’d see, by the way). Essentially, he showcases all possible options to generate ISK with nearly any ship, and that’s something I personally love. Variety is the spice of life, and if you have a crazy idea, Ace has probably already tried it.”
The best place to check out Aceface’s content is his YouTube channel.
Chloroken
Chloroken is another name that many of you will have heard of; we’ve already written about his content in our ninja-huffing guide. He’s most famous for A Nomad Tale, a beloved 12-part series covering many aspects of EVE with one main message: play with creativity to discover a unique style that will maximise your EVE experience. greybill put forward chloroken for this list.
“There’s one name for me, and that name is chloroken - creator of A Nomad Tale. What makes his content so unique? A chill and positive attitude, a unique approach to his play, and an ability to showcase the highlights of EVE’s sandbox.”
Aside from A Nomad Tale, chloroken has loads of great, unique content on his YouTube channel. Although with titles like Bloc Invaders, 5 Lessons in Bank Robbing, Hero Tackle, and Elite We Are Not, you'll have to check them out to discover the treats within. More recently, chloroken has also taken to streaming on Twitch.
If you’re pals with any of those creators, why not invite them to join Just About EVE? Let us know who your favourite EVE content creator is in the comments below. We’ll also be running another bounty soon asking about alternative types of EVE content creator, such as podcasters.
Some text has been amended for brevity. You can find the original wording at the bounty post.
