EVE Vanguard gameplay is showing a lot of promise. Over the last year, CCP Games has been running playtests for their upcoming first-person shooter, a game set on the planets of New Eden with matches that will both affect and be affected by player actions in EVE Online. For each of those playtests, we ran bounties challenging our community members to capture their most skillful and impressive moments, as well as their silly, hilarious, and, let’s say, ‘less than skillful’ moments. 

Through those bounties, we secured several dozen gigabytes of great EVE Vanguard gameplay footage and then challenged our community of veteran content creators to turn that footage into highlight reels and blooper reels. Below, you’ll find 11 of the best of them.  

EVE Vanguard gameplay videos: highlights

As well as his own EVE Vanguard gameplay videos, Sturmer used footage from Arirana, Brother Grimoire, Kane Carnifex, Eyekenspel, FUN INC, Hellsatano, JAKEL33T, TheHumanDecoy, and Wadd Enderas to create this epic gameplay showcase. It’s just three minutes long, but there’s a lot going on, and you’ll soon see why we allocated it our first-place reward. Pay attention to the soundtrack too; you’ll be in for a nice surprise. 

Up next we have a high-energy highlight reel from Nine, which uses Arirana’s and Eyekenspel’s clips; “they’re amazing players; I hope I can play like them.”

And now onto Kane Carnifex’s excellent - and refreshingly chill - take on a highlights reel. Considering it’s made up of clips of augmented super soldiers giving each other hell on an alien planet amid the scorched wreckage of a crashed megaship, the first few minutes give real holiday vibes. It heats up towards the epic climax, for which Kane drops this teaser: 

“Let’s gooooo! It’s not my usual style of video, but I had fun and learned some things along the way.” That’s EVE content creator Nth Dimensional, who created this next reel using footage exclusively from one of Vanguard’s star players: Arirana. 

Our next high-octane EVE Vanguard gameplay compilation comes from TheGreatestBanana12 and uses clips from Arirana, BrotherGrimoire, TheHumanDecoy, Kane Carnifex, Eyekenspel, and Juno Tristan. 

The final reel comes from FirestormGamingTeam. It uses clips from BrotherGrimoire, TheHumanDecoy, and you guessed it: Arirana. They opted for NEFFEX for the soundtrack as they “think it fits”, and we agree! 

EVE Vanguard gameplay videos: bloopers

For every yin there’s a yang, and for every boot on the ground there’s a foot in a mouth. Now we’ve shown off the highlight videos, we’ve got a range of EVE Vanguard gameplay blooper reels showcasing funny bugs, mishaps, and misadventures. 

“Disco, disco! Pew pew!” Kane created this one, complete with a fitting track - Psycho Killer by the Talking Heads. As well as the other content creators we’ve listed above, Kane used footage from GamingExtreme and HomicidalKitten. It’s a treat: 

Sturmer returns for the next EVE Vanguard gameplay blooper reel, and gives thanks to Kane, Eyekenspel, TheHumanDecoy, Hellsatano, BrotherGrimoire, NthDimensional, Limal, Juno, and Arirana for their footage. 

FUN INC brings the fun with this Benny Hill-inspired reel, with the tongue-in-cheek intro: “This is the Vanguard reel they didn’t want you to see.” On that topic, we’d like to give a little shoutout to our partners CCP Games, who not only allowed but encouraged us to run a bounty that highlighted the in-development game’s bugs. We think it’s safe to say that that’s not something all game studios would do.

Next up, we have a Just About EVE community member who’s been producing loads of great EVE content recently, and their blooper reel is no exception. “Cutting the footage to the music was a fun challenge, and I’m satisfied with the result!”

Last but not least we have this blooper reel from Limal, which is dishing out funky, tropical vibes: 

Limal signed off with the message “seeya in November”. And that’s because, after a hiatus, Vanguard playtests are scheduled to return on 28 November with what promises to be the biggest update yet.
