These stunning EVE Online time-lapse videos submitted by our community of veteran capsuleers do an excellent job at showcasing just how beautiful the complex space MMO can be. From exploding fireworks and bustling trade ports to asteroids floating peacefully in space and ships engaging in combat, speeding time up results in seeing the game from an entirely new angle.
Without further ado, here are ten terrific EVE Online time-lapses, each showcasing the game in a different way.
Peace and serenity
Rather than opting to capture scenes in EVE Online with lots going on, Luka Zaharin went for the opposite: peaceful, calming landscapes (spacescapes?) such as planets spinning on their axis and asteroids floating through the nothing. They explained this "focus on some of the less obvious animations" was intentional, describing them as "covert beauty".
Time to undock
Kane Carnifex got himself to a Keepstar and combined two things we never thought would be combined: EVE Online and symphonic didgeridoos. The result is surprisingly majestic. It goes to show that sometimes you just need to trust your instincts.
A neon montage
Limal has used a myriad of different shots for their time-lapse, including a gorgeous opening scene peering out of a docking bay and a number of different ships firing during combat. This is all enhanced with house music, a perfect genre choice in the futuristic setting of EVE Online.
The beauty of Pochven
Lumin explains that "Pochven is by far my favourite part of space in New Eden," because "there are so many beautiful anomalies, celestials, and - obviously - wrecks". All of these are featured in this Pochven time-lapse and then some, with lots of excellent edits and stunning shots.
Ten minutes of spinning planets
A prime candidate for an EVE Online time-lapse, TheGreatestBanana12 has focused on three planets for his video, all spinning on their axes. As a bonus, there's also a shot of a bustling tradeport at the end.
The storm of Jinizu
Where Lumin has a soft spot for Pochven, CelestialFlea is a big fan of the system of Jinizu, where they recorded two perspectives: "one next to the sun, and one facing away from the sun, looking at the storm". As a bonus, the sounds of the storm were "so calming", they've left the audio in the video for a little ASMR effect.
Undocking from Jita
Following in the footsteps of Kane Carnifex, FirestormGamingTeam has also recorded an undocking time-lapse. This time, it's of plenty of ships undocking from Jita, complete with the in-game advertisements.
Fireworks aplenty
Next up is Sturmer, whose video is a concoction of all manner of fireworks, exploding around a ship coasting through space. There's a lot going on here - maybe don't watch this one for too long if you're sensitive to too many bright lights - but it certainly makes the fireworks even more impressive.
Jita traffic
Much like EveOnlineTutorials, Hunter has also chosen the Jita trade hub as their time-lapse location of choice. They've recorded a much longer period of time and sped it up considerably more though, leading to a lot more ships - and flickering ads - as a result.
A snowball fight like no other
While only coming in at a minute long, this video from FUN INC - recorded at the annual Luminaire Snowball Fight in 2024 - is an absolute marvel.
Congratulations again to all of our winners, these time-lapse videos are great, almost like people watching in the middle of space. For more EVE Online video content, check out these top videos recommended as essential EVE Online watching, or these eight epic fan-made videos.
