Test cricket is a fine, stout game, but it's infamously tricky to 'get into'. The England and Wales Cricket Board tacitly acknowledged this in the early '00s by creating Twenty20 cricket - a new format that was faster, more exciting, and more accessible. While some worry for its impact on the full-fledged game, it's been widely adopted around the world and pretty much succeeded in its goal of attracting new audiences.
So we wondered: are there any other sports that could benefit from a similar revamp? It needn't be a shortening or a hastening of the game, as in Twenty20, but perhaps a simplification, a streamlining, a change in format, venue, or broadcasting, or some other rule change that would revitalise the game and help it find new fans while still preserving competitive depth.
Suggest a sport that would benefit from a bit of reformatting and how you would do so. Written or video, at least 50 words. The ten best submissions get $4 apiece!
